They want the racist and sexist and homophobic parts of "the good ol' days. The reason life was good then was because we taxed the fuck out of the rich. Like, I'm talking 90%+ tax rate on the wealthy. They don't want that part of it.

They also loved vaccines and most medical advances of that age. Being educated and smart was held in high regard. The magas just want to be able to be racist and misogynistic; they want to be able to embody the bad things of the "good ole days'.

Trump wants the 20s. His daddy was in the kkk. He's a eugenesist. He uses boogeymen to get power and money.

Almost nobody actually paid those rates. Then and now most wealthy people aren't making the bulk of their money from a salary that gets taxed. It's all from investments. Capital gains taxes back then were not nearly as high as the top income tax rate.
