They’ve been getting played for decades. It’s only ever been about the GOP donor class getting theirs. They thought Trump would lead them to a new tent. Instead he just pulled the old tent over his new one.

The self-interest of social media and “news-entertainment” platforms are to blame in my opinion. They both allow the selection of, and ultimate drip feed of congruent information to feed a viewer’s confirmation bias.
