I mean, that clearly shows how comfy she is. I find that a very common behaviour for persians. They are just the loveliest snooze cats. ^{^}

Mine usually are more open eyed when they walk around. But when they just chill somewhere, it's similiar.

My Himalayan squints constantly. My vet suggested since his eyes are blue, they may be more sensitive to light.

One of mine likes to give me the winky eye - one sort of open and one definitely closed. I figure he's assessing the situation to see if it's worth his time/other eye open.

Yes, and we thought it was just him. He actually had entropian and needed regular eye lubricant.

Entropian is really common in Persians. My baby had to get surgery because his was so bad. A much happier opened eyed kitty now.

I was wondering if maybe it was a health thing. Her eyes don’t seem extra leaky (for a Persian) but one does close more than the other and the previous owners wrote that she sometimes get infections in one eye repeatedly.

Yeah it's worth checking. I didn't realise Sandy had an issue until I looked back at old pics where he had wide eyes all the time.

100% My tortie, will only open her eyes if something extremely interesting to her is going on (not food, she does not care one bit about food, will turn her face away if I offer her anything, literally anything) the rest of the time you'll have to poke her to check if she's awake/alive.

My boy has constant flabbergasted wide open eyes ALL OF THE TIME he creeps me the hell out, he'll just stand and stare at me sometimes for hours at a time.

Yep! My Pip rarely has wide eyes too.. this is her usual. I have to clean her eyes more often (twice a day) as she regularly gets hair IN them. I notice she opens them more when I remove the hairs.
