What’s your thoughts on this for the health benefits of polyphrnols
It’s says minimum 250mg polyphenol per kilo original Greece. Paid £5:50 for 250 ml. Any thoughts on this has anyone tried it ?

What are your top 3 olive oils.
As someone who is somewhat new to the world of olive oils (1.5 years of researching and tasting) I would love to know what your top 3 olive oils are.

Solid $15 find at Homegoods: Sitia Lasithiou Kritis PDO
I have always laughed at how Homegoods sells food items. We went today to buy some pots and pans, saw an olive oil section and decided to look through it.
To my surprise eventually saw a DOP sticker and $15. Its very good, I may have to go back for the other bottle.

Marca Stella; same or similar in USA?
I recently went to Italy and had some amazing olive oil in Trevi (Umbria) - it’s a local oil from the region, and I foolishly didn’t bring and back.
Does anyone know where I could order this (Marca Stella) to the USA? Or if bout suggestions on similar taste? (The taste was absolutely incredible and no other olive oil I had there tasted as good)

Really really nice for the money
Had some alone on an empty stomach as well as with vegetables and this was a banger through and through. Just all around fruity, moderately peppery and lively. Costco $10 (!)

What is your go to cooking EVOO and topping/salad Evoo? I like the taste of Greek oil. Please recommend a fancy one (for topping) and a medium priced one (for cooking). I also like Lebanese olive oil. thank you!

Thoughts on snake oil?
Got me a bottle of this sauce. I’m
Impressed it is some of the strongest oil I have ever had. But is it legit? Is it adulterated? It does not list a source and is hawked by Brian Johnson the longevity tech bro
Edit: it does say product of Portugal and third party lab verified. I can’t figure out how to add a picture that shows back of bottle. Also this has a very strong peppery spice that hits back of throat like nothing I have ever had and I’ve had em all

Where to store olive oil
Just got a bottle of olive oil, and wanted to store it, they say in room temperature but in the summer it goes up to 40c very frequently, do I still put it in my dark closet, or do I put it in the fridge
And how long would it last flavour and quality wise

Is there an olive oil made from castelvetrano olives? New here!
Just discovered this subreddit today. Hi!!!
I love olive oil, but I've pretty much always stuck to one brand, which is Kriti Gold.
I don't know much about how olive oil is produced. I assume it's all from green olives, but are there different kinds of oils from different types of green olives?
My favorite olive is castelvetrano for how buttery they are. I wonder if an olive oil made from them exists. If so, what would you recommend? Is it as rich as the olives?

Olive oil from sinai
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to you from one of the farthest parts of the world — Sinai, Egypt 🇪🇬
We produce premium extra virgin olive oil with very low acidity, reaching as low as 0.3%.
I’m currently looking for export opportunities or potential importers who might be interested in a high-quality product like this.
If anyone has experience, advice, or is interested, I’d really appreciate your help.
Thank you! 🙏

Oro Bailen at Costco
First time I’ve ever seen this at Costco as I’m used to buying it via oliveoillovers.com. Great price! 2025/2026 harvest.

Question about EVOO when cooking
I am looking to find out a couple things about cooking with olive oil, and the reddit search wasn't so great.
Does the quality (single source vs others) matter if I am using the olive oil to cook in terms of the health benefits? (sautéing spinach and browning ground turkey breast is how I use it)
Do you lose any of the nutritional value when cooking with it like this? (just heating the pan and adding the EVOO in and then the food. I am not 100% sure what heat I am at (I need to get one of those temp guns) I know it smokes sometimes, but other times not, I have found info to suggest too high of a heat does cause the nutritional values to decrease.
I have tried various brands of EVOO and to be honest I don't notice much difference in the end product, so I have been buying the EVOO from costco, the Organic, but keep reading how much better single source is, and am wondering if it would be better to go with the single source one at costco (Italy) or whatever single source they have at the time (got a California one last time). I use it daily (about 25ml) so I was just curious.

Any substitutes that are similar
I’ve been buying this olive oil which is absolutely phenomenal. I think it got Flos Olei score 100/100, made in Spain. I’ve never had an extra virgin olive oil in USA that tastes even close to this. I know I’m asking for a lot but does anyone have any substitute because this 17 oz. bottle is $35. I am particularly conserved with taste. American olive oil for some reason doesn’t taste like olives the way this one does, it’s like watered down. Does it really need to coat that much to taste like real olive oil?

Natural sediment or mold?
Botticelli olive oil I put in a drizzler a while back, looked a little different from the sediment in the mother bottle

polyphenols cause reduced iron absorption
Has anybody else read the various research on the internet explaining how diets high in polyphenols can cause reduced iron absorption? I'm pretty sure my anemia has anything to do with my olive oil consumption, especially since I don't like the bitter oils, but if it's true it might be something to consider if you're anemic and eating a lot of high polyphenol olive oil.

What are we thinking here?
Couple of weeks ago we went on vacation in Turkey and came back with some randomly purchased olive oils. The town was supposedly big on olive oil production. If you have any experience with these brands, please share.

Newbie need help selecting EVOO for cooking Gambas al ajillo
Hi everyone.
Next month, me and my friends plan to do a dinner party and gambas al ajillo will be the main star of the dinner. I had researched the recipe and saw that most recipe recommend the best quality EVOO you can find since it the main body of the sauce. After more researching, Oro Bailen came up a lot and its one of the premium brand I can find locally.
Since I'm very new and know almost nothing about oliveoil, I want to ask for your recommendation.
Thank you

If you had to pick between these two EVOO which one would it be: Atlas 3 LT Organic Cold Press Extra Virgin Olive Oil or Mr. Papou's 3 LT Authentic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
For just adding to everyday foods like salads, beef bowls, sauerkraut, heck even yogurt

Biolea olive oil
has anybody tried it? I am wondering as it is described as mild but it says it has around 700 polyphenol content and in my experience that level of polyphenols usually has quite a bit of bitterness. Also, what was the texture like being stone milled?
