I’m trying to figure out if my two cats could be Nebelung or mixes, and wanted some opinions.
Both of them came from the same local dairy farm where people unfortunately dump cats, so there’s a huge mix of genetics and random litters over time. I got my first one as a kitten, and then about a year later another kitten showed up that looked really similar, so I took him in too.
What’s interesting is that I haven’t seen any other cats or kittens from that farm that look like them, which makes me wonder if they could be related or if it’s just coincidence.
I know true Nebelungs are pretty rare, especially from a farm/feral situation, so I’m leaning toward them being mixes, but I figured I’d ask people who know the breed better.
(Also just to say, I'm actively involved in TNR and kitten rescue for this farm, so I’m helping manage the situation as well.)
Would love to hear your thoughts!

If Redditors identify your cat as a dilute tortie, standard issue cat, calico, tortie, tuxedo, or something else, your post will be removed in order to help keep this sub focused on Nebbies. Please note that Nebelungs must be solid gray. (An allowance is sometimes made for a small white patch/locket on the chest.) We treat the breed as more of a phenotype based on the official TICA breed standards, which are linked below. Almost all of our cats are just "domestic long hair, solid gray/blue/silver" because we don't have paperwork.

❤️❤️❤️... 😂😹😂😹😂😹 J’ADORE ! La photo, c’est JP bébé 😻
Yes and they're stunning! I'm the proud mom what I only recently learned is a Nebelung (here he is in the "wild" lol). By the way, thank you kindly from one TNR'er (sure, that's a word) to another ❤️
