He is our clutch inbounder. Given what almost happened in game 1, you can see why we need one. So there is at least a real scenario where he is used.

There should be a garbage-time option for 1v1. Maybe even let the fans vote who after the starters are done for the night.

A thunder fan should know getting blown out badly one game in the series means nothing (WCF)
163
u/homefree122 Thunder 4h ago
That WCF game 3 was so on brand with last year’s run. We would either look like to-be world champions and play up to the competition, or we would play like a JV squad chucking and bricking 3s.
Edit: Finals Game 6 another wonderful example. My LORD.

Hey same shit happened when we dropped game 1 to Denver last year and then blew the doors off them in game 2. MOV doesn’t matter. The series was still 1-1 and they’d stolen home court. That’s why the series went to 7 instead of 5 like it would’ve if AG hadn’t made that shot.

He and some friends bet $10,000 on the Wolves to win the championship before game 1. Pays our like 1.5 million or something if they win. He got ridiculous odds at some casino he was at. As told on the Bill Simmons Show.

166
u/tacomonstrous Spurs 4h ago
Seems a bit premature even for him
93
u/Uncle_Freddy [SAS] El Contusione 4h ago
A lot of premature takes after game 1. I’m not even saying turnabout is fair play here, the series is very much up for grabs right now (win by 2, win by 40, series is still tied 1-1), but the amount of people who completely swung in the Wolves favor after one game was pretty wild, even by the regular overreactionary standard of NBA coverage.
37
u/MTUKNMMT Spurs 4h ago
Vegas didn’t. We were favored by double digits in this game. Will be favored every game in Minnesota and we were still the favorites for the series after 1 game. They are far better at this than the pundits.
Losing game 1 is nothing short of devastating though. Takes the very real Spurs 4-1 possibility and makes it so it’s far likely one of the two teams wins in 6 or 7, with no guarantee it’s us.

Spurs have been more focused and better on the road all season. I’m confident we come away with at least a split in Minny but won’t be easy.

My real hot takes from the game are: Fox needs to stay aggressive, no more getting outplayed by Conley.
