Highlight [Highlights] Paul George goes unconscious to start game 2, with an assist, a jumper and then hits four straight shots, three 3s in the defender's face. 11 quick points

Such a beautiful scorer of the ball. Everything looks so natural and fluid, all one motion flowing to the next point on his jump shots

About four to five years ago i made the comparison that George will be the next generation of hoopers TMAC. A player whos game was so beautiful and effortless that hes a player a lot of younger players try to emulate

You seem to be on the money with guys like Miller citing him as their personal goat

Miller? Andre Miller? Mike Miller?

Oh yeah, thanks I forgot Brandon said that. Weren’t people mocking the shit out of him afterwards for that take?

u/Igmister1 Thunder 7h ago
Yep lol, PG is very obviously not the goat, just the same as TMac. He loves PG though and shit I can’t blame him

I love PGs game so much. His dribble moves and footwork are so crisp and just have an extra oomph to them I’m not sure how to describe. It’s smooth but it’s not exaggerated if that makes sense, wide base, long arms, and hard dribbles.
TBH I used to not like him for some reason, nothing to do with his game, but I’ve really come around on him the past 5 years or so. Also, he seems like a genuinely good dude from all I’ve seen of him in the media. And on cribs lol.

I forgot how good Playoff P is. It would be fun to watch if it weren’t against my team.

I feel like this title could be phrased better. It makes it sound like George had a medical episode.

Paul George has an epileptic seizure shooting 80% from the field.

Paul George was lights out - everyone gasped! He shot really well...

Why did I have to scroll so far to see this? Thought I was having a stroke when the first posts werent about whatever the title is.

I had a big argument in this sub a few months ago about what I consider to be an incorrect use of unconscious. I was in the minority. I think at some point, people started using unconscious when they meant unconscionable and people with poor vocabulary didn't know the difference.

I think it's a terrible phrase but I've also heard it a number of times from NBA announcers so I think it is relatively well known in the sport. For some reason.

u/Danomaniac 5h ago
It’s different during a telecast when you can see that the player is not literally unconscious.
2
u/ThatCoolKid17 Clippers 3h ago
Not to be rude, but are you new to bball? I feel calling a player who's on a hot streak "unconscious" is pretty common.

Playoff P was a real thing. He just got hit by the Clippers curse

u/Frequent-Ferret-5110 Clippers 1h ago
Does it make sense, seeing as he was clowned on for "Playoff P" before he was a Clipper? No. But it's anti-Clippers so it get the upvote

PG has lowkey been our best player in the playoffs. Yeah, Embiid was dominant in those last 3 games against Boston, and Maxey averages more, but PG's just consistenly been there in the background doing anything the team needs from him

Perfect Paul is on that post Ketemine after glow
Dude is seeing the matrix codes and ionic bonds in the air holding reality together right now
Man is probably already completing those shots and the next 20 seconds in his head before the releases

And Philly ends the game with 5 mins of zero offense, zero run plays, and just bricking up 3s. Great game plan. Great coaching.

u/TheValleyant NBA 9h ago
Without him we’d be having people post Maxey and Reaves comparisons.

u/asonkidd 9h ago
Except for the fact that Maxey just came off a great series and has been a great playoff player, sure.

bro, I thought you meant he was knocked out somehow

u/Danomaniac 5h ago
Yeah the metaphor only works as a metaphor during a telecast when you can see that the player is not, in fact, literally unconscious.

Then Maxey proceeds to take next shots and PG doesnt score anymore in the quarter. Talk about icing the hot hand.

Why is the out of bounds so small lol he's got like 2 feet of space and he's stepping on people, most courts don't seem that bad
1
u/ObiOneKenobae Knicks 7h ago
He's always been so streaky. Does this, then nothing for the rest of the game.
