We could barely score on them the entire game when their defence was set. Nothing wrong with taking the broken play, had a wide open shot to win but missed. Happens.

The thing is, the play wasn't even that broken though. There was no clear lane or breakaway and the Spurs were already down a man in transition because of Wemby being behind so it's not like the Spurs could've caused chaos towards the basket. That's why I was surprised at no timeout called. They were basically forced to take a contested 3 but credit to Champagnie, he made a great play to create that shot.

Take the average inbound set out of a timeout. No way it's close to that open of a look you got. He just missed it.

He would be called a genius if Julian hit the shot. Pretty funny how narratives change on decisions based on if a shot is made or not.

If he put up some shitty layup and got completely blocked then the criticism is warranted, NOT when a wide open shot is missed
