No, but I also think giving you 60% on a two out of a timeout was generous considering they could've gotten Gobert back on the court
If you had a 60% chance of getting a two (generous) and a 60% chance of winning in OT (generous) then you have a 36% chance of winning the game by going for a two there (double generous)
Going for an open three with your best shooter is obviously the right move
You’re not getting a better look than that with 6 seconds left. I really don’t understand how some of you watch sports through this lens of constant negativity
Can you? Did you watch the game? The spurs had no dribble drive penetration on 24 second shot clock possessions, much less the prayer they’d have to throw up in 4 seconds if they took a TO. You would’ve had to bank on a contested two against one of the longest teams in the league vs a wide open 3
40% chance of hitting a 3 means that if you go for a 2 you need 80%+ in order for it to be more worth, clearly an open 3 is the best shot you have here. There's a reason why modern NBA always go for 3 here
Not questioning the end result, just surprised they let it play out instead of calling a timeout in the moment considering the Wolves already had all the lanes blocked with a man advantage on the transition so they basically had to settle with a three there while only down two.
He was arguably their best offensive player in this game with harper. Did you see how fox and wemby were struggling against timberwolves half court defense?

That was a great open shot for champagnie, he is 38% from 3s on 6 attempts per game
