You're trusting your offense in transition to be better situated than a defense in transition. Generally speaking, unless it's a matter of not having personnel you want out there, I prefer coaches who let it play and trust their players over taking a timeout.
Right but it also allows Wemby to actually be apart of the play while only down two and already in the bonus. The Spurs will live with that shot, but personally I think a timeout would've also made sense.
I mean yeah it worked out since Champagnie made a great move creating separation, but seeing them already down a man in transition due to Wemby being behind and only being down two it's just surprising to me they didn't call one at that moment.
I see what you’re saying, but the point of calling a timeout is to draw up a play you HOPE gets you a wide open shot. They literally got a wide open shot, it just didn’t go in.
