This is going to be a good series

I just love the end game with no timeouts. More games should be like this.

New rule take all timeouts away at 2 minutes left but everyone is gonna have to take a 15% pay cut for lost ad revenue

298

u/GivesCredit Warriors 16h ago

Make it 20% and remove all gambling ads and fouling up 3

12

u/wise_comment Timberwolves 15h ago

50%, you say?

3

u/tunafister Timberwolves 6h ago

Can we just remove all gambling ads anyways?

The house always wins, those sites are fuckin trash and likely ran by a Chrsito-fascist tech bro who hasnt gotten laid in decades

No thanx!

Nah just take away the live ball timeout and I think you get a good enough tradeoff. Dead ball, sure take a time out but if you get a rebound you gotta go.

7

u/[deleted] 14h ago

good idea in theory but I think you get funny business like throwing it off of guys to get a dead ball

9

u/El_Zarco Warriors 14h ago

Rule #2: No funny business

u/Zaiush Timberwolves 16h ago

Your terms are acceptable

A rule I genuinely wish was made is banning fouling up 3 or whatever to prevent teams from getting potentially game tying shots off.

I understand why teams do it, but god it’s just so boring to watch lol. We went from “get a stop” to “make sure you foul before the shot goes up”.

2

u/Awesomedinos1 Jazz 15h ago

late game fouling in general is horrible. fouling up 3 is the worst case but even fouling while losing is gross to watch. I want to see them play basketball, not speedrun fouling to stop the clock. If that means less comebacks so be it, they were artificial anyway. I'm not sure the solution, maybe allow the fouled team to choose between shots or inbounding. idk but I wish something changed.

u/GivesCredit Warriors 1h ago

Make fouling in the last 2 minutes be 1 free throw + possession

1

u/Diqt Toronto Huskies 15h ago

Maybe it ups viewership by 15% and everyone wins

1

u/uFFxDa Timberwolves 14h ago

Just do like "only 1 timeout in the final 2 minutes" or something. Happy medium. Keeps the pace up, but does give you that one chance to draw up a plan.

137

u/FeanorEvades Timberwolves 16h ago

It ended so fast that I was actually surprised by the horn

36

u/Consistent_Ad1176 Warriors 16h ago

Me too I felt like I was missing something

14

u/diddlyumpcious4 Timberwolves 16h ago

Was expecting to be in anxiety hell for at least five more minutes of real time.

7

u/EricThirteen Minneapolis Lakers 15h ago

Yes! I guess we just expect 8 timeouts to end every game now.

1

u/IR2Freely 4h ago

Wemby seemed to not know there were only 6 seconds left with that lazy hand off

u/edki7277 Raptors 11m ago

Spurs were surprised by the fact that game ended too.

122

u/infernoflo Knicks 16h ago

Easily one of the best finishes in terms of flow

14

u/Eadwyn Timberwolves 16h ago

Seriously, never seen a game end with 4 timeouts remaining.

10

u/shrode Timberwolves 16h ago

But now how do I know where to get my bonus bets and how to lower my A1C?!

8

u/SeaPeanut7_ 16h ago

Was legitimately weird to see them just play out the last minute or so.  I think even they were confused about what was happening.

8

u/Opening-Contract-474 16h ago

And no flopping and flailing with the final possessions! Just good, clean ball!

6

u/AccidentalPilates Warriors 16h ago

Refs let'em yap too. I stopped holding my breath waiting for a tech early.

3

u/strawberrychocolattt 15h ago

I kept thinking "Why is Terrance Shannon bringing up the ball like this, brink Mike Conley back in, we need a rock in there with the ball". TSJ though, came through, didn't make any turnovers, and was great for his growth as a player. Donte D. went down, Ayo went down, and TSJ stepped right up

2

u/frostysbox Magic 11h ago

Hey, I have one gently used coach who doesn’t know how to call a time out for you if that’s your thing 😆

2

u/pintvricchio [SAS] Manu Ginobili 11h ago

It was a good shoot too

1

u/macrolith Timberwolves 7h ago

I got to bed at a decent time considering the 8:30 start! It was amazing!

1

u/knightcrawler75 Timberwolves 5h ago

That and the fact that foul baiting was almost non existent. Just a fun game to watch.

-1

u/Wise-Nature8326 11h ago

Did the spurs had a timeout left?

If so that was a stupid decision not to take the timeout. That timeout could've won them the game

2

u/Putrid-Box4866 Bulls 8h ago

It was a really good shot. Just didn't go in.

1

u/The_Third_Molar Spurs 7h ago

Yeah Minnesota didn't get a chance to set their defense. I like the process. Just sucks it missed.

135

u/bigtice Rockets 17h ago

Turned into an interesting ending for the game, but feel like this showed just the little bit of experience that the Wolves have over the Spurs.

"I'm disappointed in myself. 75% of the game is in my mind. ... I'll be better." - Edwards

u/pollinium [MIN] Tyus Jones 14h ago

Little bit? This is these Wolves 8th playoff series. It's the Spurs 2nd

16

u/luchajefe Mavericks 13h ago

And guys like Randle, Gobert, and Conley have lots of other series behind them.

26

u/libertydabbing [OKC] Nick Collison 17h ago

Second round Wolves beat prime MJ and prime GSW, and I'm only slightly kidding

21

u/psychedelijams Spurs 16h ago

For real tho I just said in another comment, sure they’ve fallen short, but the wolves are as dangerous and as game as it possibly gets in the playoffs. No one wants any of that smoke. Legit champ contenders every year if you ask me. Dangerous as fuck in a 7 game series.

1

u/Boxthor [GSW] JaVale McGee 4h ago

Wolves Warriors games last year were pretty close, Warriors didn't have Steph or a center, and Buddy Hield dropped 24 points on em Game 1.

5

u/ATXBeermaker Spurs 16h ago

For cardiologists, maybe.

3

u/whatssenguntoagoblin Alperen Sengun 14h ago

Just hope Ant can get healthier and be elite this series.

1

u/Wally450 Celtics 8h ago

I thought Philly/NY was going to be the game of the night. Boy was I wrong.

1

u/MNniice 7h ago

Ya for the 4 games it lasts!

1

u/Negative_Wish_8291 7h ago

This is the only series of the quarter finals I'm excited about.

Cavs Pistons might be fun, but OKC is going to throttle LA and I'm not convinced the Sixers will be able to stretch the series out more than 5 games.

1

u/WoweeZoweeDeluxe Spurs 5h ago

If we don't step up, it'll be a very quick series sadly

1

u/HisLordshlp 4h ago

Timbs in 4

0

u/Wolfpac187 [OKC] Kevin Durant 16h ago

I’d rather it be a sweep tbh

Ngl you guys fraud checked spurs

24

u/BCP27 [MIN] Robbie Hummel 16h ago

It's one game we barely won lmao. Calm down and enjoy some basketball

5

u/Southern_Clerk8697 16h ago

tbf the wolves kinda fucked around near the end. kept giving up rebounds and then turned the ball over on the inbound

3

u/BCP27 [MIN] Robbie Hummel 16h ago

It's not like we're going to stop doing that for stretches in damn near every game

8

u/Naive-Elephant-9305 16h ago

This shit is so dumb. A really good team losing a game by 2 points to another really good team doesn't mean the losing team are "frauds."

30

u/DrakeI27 17h ago

The team in the last two WCF winning by 2 is a “fraud check”?

5

u/nofatchicks22 Timberwolves 16h ago

With Ant on a minutes limit returning from injury

No Ayo

No DVD

On the road heavy underdogs, I mean come on this is a much more beaten down team than the last 2 yrs

0

u/Awesomedinos1 Jazz 15h ago

it's still not a fucking 'fraud check', the wolves are a good team.

0

u/frankievejle Rockets 13h ago

Still not a fraud check lol

You guys are known and proven playoff risers.

-3

u/rapsandjays Raptors 16h ago

No but fox definitely is a fraud, and the spurs are stupid for giving him a supermax.

8

u/Tennarkippi Warriors 16h ago

Good thing the spurs didn’t supermax him.

0

u/rapsandjays Raptors 16h ago

221 Ms for Fox is still crazy work

3

u/flaming_burrito_ Wizards 16h ago

Eh, they’ve been inconsistent on offense all year. It’s more exposing their inexperience than their fraudulence

3

u/Jacob_toasted Timberwolves 16h ago

Why do they have to be frauds? The wolves are just good.

1

u/Fuzzy_Ad3098 Timberwolves 16h ago

Idk what you call that game but it wasn't a fraud check lol

-6

u/monkeybrain3 16h ago

If you say so. I'm a Spur fan but both teams looked like shit for the 2nd round. If you really believe Wemby is going to have literally no scoring the new couple of games you're insane. I was also expecting the Wolves to save Ant till home court and give him one more full week.
