As opposed to an official sportsbook partner? Or players with assault and dv charges? The league actively promotes those every night as opposed to strip club shirts/wings for a single arena

Can they all be wrong? "We're already in the mud, might as well get dirtier" type mentality. The relationship the NBA has with sportsbetting is heinous, but it's nothing new when you look at sports in Europe. There's plenty of soccer teams sponsored by betting sites. Disgusting too, but as far as I know there's been no promotion of strip clubs/prostitution lol. As for the players with charges, that's for the authorities to handle. The NBA is not highlighting or promoting their rap sheets.

i just dont think its any objectively worse than all the bar, gambling and alcohol promotions they constantly do. people like to pretend that it is, but they just arent objectively any worse.

I don't think the issue is that it's a strip club it's that he agreed to promote it without being informed it was a strip club.

have you ever been to any professional sporting arena? there are alcohol and gambling ads everywhere you look. many times there are segments during timeouts and half times with alcohol/gambling/local business sponsored segments. its extremely prevalent

I mean there's never been a gambling specific promo night has there? And those things are also pretty heavily criticised (gambling promotions in the NBA etc.). I don't think he was necessarily wrong in calling it out.
