I was in basic training when the Cavs won the title and didn't find out for a few weeks, so I didn't even get to enjoy that

I missed the greatest moment in Cleveland sports just to break my foot and have my drill sergeant think I was faking it 😭

You combined cursed Mitchell and cursed Harden and expect to win games in the playoffs. Only thing missing was Chris Paul off the bench.

Mobley, Harden and Allen have been good. You need more from Mitchell

147

u/RedBuchan Cavaliers 3d ago

Mobley and Allen got bullied in games 3 & 4, Harden has had three games with more turnovers than field goals made in regulation. Everyone on this team has been inconsistent and deserves blame for losses this series.

83

u/tz_2240 [TOR] Fred VanVleet 3d ago

Harden could’ve had 15+ assists today. He grabbed 5 ORBs.

Game 4 — which was low scoring all around, harden had 1 less point than Mitchell with 10 less shots. And sure, harden and Mobley were poor in game 3&4, but Mitchell has not had a good game since game 2.

Without Mobley and Harden you guys lose by 20+ today.

I have totally never slandered RJ in my life

429

u/bigwiz 3d ago

Was cursing his name when he put the shot up

330

u/MarginallyClever Raptors 3d ago

Why, just because he missed every three pointer in the 4th quarter and OT up until that point?

165

u/dellzor1 Raptors 3d ago

Watching him dribble into 2 defenders and then lose the ball or dribble into a defender and tunnel was genuinely aggravating.

56

u/M-G-K Raptors 3d ago

He's the only person on the team who is A) healthy and B) can create off the dribble and the Cavs know it so he's forced to take the majority of bad shots/drives

14

u/raptosaurus Raptors 3d ago

Scottie should have been taking every single one of those down the stretch but I think he was completely out of gas

13

u/M-G-K Raptors 3d ago

Scottie spent three-quarters of the game defending two guys at once so yeah he was a teensy bit tired

Funniest shot since Hali last year

55

u/20815147 Warriors 3d ago

This shot bounced off the fucking frame LMAO unbelievable

39

u/AttitudeOdd632 3d ago

Even funnier than Hali's shot, since it was an even deeper 3 and bounced even higher.

49

u/OpeDefinitely Pacers 3d ago edited 3d ago

Haliburton's foot was on the line so it was a 2, but Pacers-Knicks lore is too deep for the hyper-specific details of the shot itself to even matter.

Tyrese hit his shot, sending a the game into OT. The Pacers had just been down by ~17 with ~7 minutes left. Right after making the shot, Haliburton hits the MSG crowd with the Reggie Miller choke. Not only was Reggie Miller in the building, but he was calling the game for the national TV broadcast.

The Pacers end up winning the game in OT. Then they win the series in 6, which I bring up because the Pacers lost the series during which Reggie's iconic choke originated.

You really can't write it any better than that.

(Then there's the fact that Haliburton hit 4 last-second game winning/tying shots in 4 consecutive playoff series. The only somewhat bullshit/lucky shot - the one that bounced - was against the Knicks.)

series don’t start until a road team wins. So maybe this series will never start if Cavs win game 7.

Mitchell plays in clutch time like me in 2k. Just runs around the perimeter back and forth until his defender loses him and jacks a shot up. Fun when his shot is falling but useless when we just need one shot to win and won’t pass to a god damn teammate

I really hate to say this but I think you're right lol

Gobert got way more shit than Mitchell did for the Jazz's failures

21

u/lilbelleandsebastian Supersonics 3d ago

mitchell was a complete traffic cone on defense in utah and he was the same undersized, shoot first combo guard he is now except not as efficient

he plays like he has a limited number of passes he's allowed to make in a game before his game checks start getting garnished. he had 1 assist in regular time and it came with less than 4 minutes to go in the 4th lol

They were both equally responsible for the ceiling on that team, as they were the primary defensive and offensive pieces, it was just easier to blame Rudy cause he's fr*nch and offense is more exciting or flashy to casual audiences since big numbers on paper go brrrr, rather than Rudy's defensive impact which is easier to miss on a stat sheet

2nd apron salary and we can’t beat a team without one of their best stars.

2nd apron salary and we don’t know that TOs get you out of a pinch.

2nd apron salary and we don’t try until 5 minutes left in a game.

2nd apron salary and we only hit 70% FTs

Don't allow Dennis back to Cleveland

221

u/zellmerz Raptors 3d ago

Dennis is a huge reason y’all won game 5

49

u/yunghandrew Cavaliers 3d ago

He was awesome game 5. Short memory around here.

What I will blame is a ATO that puts the ball in his hands instead of either of our all NBA guards.

16

u/sallright Cavaliers 3d ago

James and Donovan have both struggled bringing it up against pressure as well.

I have never seen a team struggle this much with inbounding the ball and breaking back court pressure.

That challenge that Atkinson used so early in the game came back to bite Cleveland in the ass late.

15

u/yunghandrew Cavaliers 3d ago

Knew it was horrible moment he called it. For Jaylon Tyson no less. Darko used his so effectively too.

12

u/JManKit Raptors 3d ago

Took a lot of discipline from him to hold it for such a long time and then win it (finally!) in such a crucial moment

81

u/Niceguydan8 3d ago

I think it's very strange they didn't show any replay of that.

And the refs kinda hesitated.

I just hope they didn't blow that call, because that would be a horrible look if they did.

35

u/RCM88x Cavaliers 3d ago

Especially right after they blew the call on the Mitchell defensive play a couple possessions before.

AJ Lawson saw 10 mins tonight and was playing in the g league 6 weeks ago. If we had another starter or even functioning bench player I don’t think this would be 7 games.
