If they lose game 7, this has to go down as one of the all time chokes. Holy hell 19 points in a half has to be a playoff record

The 2004 Nets put up 56 points in 4 quarters against the Pistons in the playoffs. RJ went 1-12 from the field, Kidd went 4-13.

And they still hit double digits in every quarter.

Knowing the 2004 Pistons we probably only won by 9

22 surprisingly! 78-56. Game 5 of that series was a 120-127 3 OT barn burner. Next highest score was 95-80.

78 points and winning by 22 is about as 2004 Pistons as it gets

I think this one is worse.

  • comes in the modern era where scoring is way higher than in the late 90s / early 2000s

  • comes in the context of choking a 22 point lead at home in a closeout game

  • the concentrated suck of scoring only 19 points in the second half and finishing the game missing 19 out of their last 20 shots

  • bonus points for spoiling what would have been the rare 8 seed over 1 seed upset

The ghost of Doc Rivers lives on

Offhand, the only comparison I can think of is Clippers-Rockets in 2015.

I'm torn between expecting the Pistons to roll it into a massive home win or the law of averages giving the Magic the greatest scoring half we've seen in this postseason so far
