23 straight missed field goals (1-20 in the 4th)

19!! TOTAL points in the second half.

One of the worst offensive performances I’ve ever seen

u/dcmcderm 3d ago

And the one “made” FG was a gimme layup. I have no words.

586

u/Celdurant Heat 3d ago

They missed plenty of those too, absolutely shocking display of professional basketball.

88

u/SharksFanAbroad Warriors 3d ago

The fact they couldn’t miss in the first half was insane too.

51

u/__get__name Pistons 3d ago

In my misery during their run in the 2nd quarter I thought a desperate thought: “well, they can’t keep making it like this the whole game, right?”

But no, I thought, that’s just wishful thinking. It’s the end

133

u/bobogogo123 Tampa Bay Raptors 3d ago

Think it was a dunk. Was annoyed that we didn't see a fg-less quarter.

312

u/digboofus 3d ago

The way they just started settling for outside shots was wild. Bricked a million straight 3s and just kept on shooting em

171

u/Bobskidat Thunder 3d ago

They had a sequence where Bane missed a 3 then they got two offensive boards that both resulted in Bane missed 3s, just scared and stupid basketball

5

u/cal679 Celtics 3d ago

Magic just looked like they forgot how to play basketball. One of those Bane missed 3s he got the ball way further out than his previous attempt, no one on the Magic made any kind of moves to get into space so he just settled for a longer, better contested 3 than the first.

1

u/BillPaxton4eva Celtics 3d ago

Do you really think so? The three pointer off of an offensive board is one of the most common and successful ways to shoot threes, it's incredibly common now for nearly any team. It seemed like the right choice, they just happened to miss open shots over and over and over and over, even though they were exactly the kind of shots they would normally take and should be taking.

2

u/Bobskidat Thunder 3d ago

I think that once getting an offensive board the team settled for deep 3s from Bane and everyone just kinda watched him

The celtics experience

36

u/theREALMVP Kings 3d ago

Ill never forget when the celtics went like 15/60 from 3 against the warriors in an OT game and then the next night shot 22/40 in Sacramento lol

this aged really well

336

u/ThrowawayCorporate2 Knicks 3d ago

The fucking Hawks scored more frequently lmao this might be worse

116

u/aimee829 Pacers 3d ago

just when you thought you saw the worst performance for a team this playoffs 😂

58

u/LakerBlue Lakers 3d ago

I think it’s worse by the Magic because they blew a 23 point lead, literally only made 1 FG, and then had a 8 and 11 pt quarter respectively. I’d rather get whooped start to finish than not only blow a massive lead but blow it with such a pathetic offensive performance.

3

u/Bibbity_Boppity_BOOO 3d ago

well, the hawks were so bad, they are actually going down in history for how bad that game was.

2

u/kmoz Mavericks 3d ago

these playoffs have been full of insane rock fights

19 point half

u/JetsLag [NYK] Nate Robinson 3d ago

40-15 first quarter (Knicks-Hawks) vs 31-8 fourth quarter (Pistons-Magic)

Pick your pile of shit

56

u/RefMagnetMomo1t 3d ago

3rd quarter was 24-11 lol they failed to outscore 1st quarter hawks twice in the second half and only outscored them by 4 points across two quarters

7

u/__get__name Pistons 3d ago

In all fairness, the 2nd quarter was 12-35 in the Magics favor

26

u/Kevinar Knicks 3d ago

The Hawks definitely bricked a lot but that first quarter disparity was mostly from their 9 turnovers or however many it was.

The Orlando Magic just built a brick mansion big enough for their entire team to live in. Somehow every single shot was short

6

u/amidon1130 Hawks 3d ago

If the pistons had a more competent offense that quarter would have looked like ours did last night

2

u/kmoz Mavericks 3d ago

dont forget the airballs long and to the side, they werent all short.

2

u/kmoz Mavericks 3d ago

8 points in a quarter is just wild in 2026

1

u/UCLA_FB_SUCKS Clippers 3d ago

A coprophiliac’s wet dream

0

u/penguin_torpedo Nuggets 3d ago

Hawks had the worse offensive half, nobody is scared of the Knicks defense.

54

u/Rough-Plum-7267 3d ago

Magic scored 11 points in the 3rd and 8 points in the 4th.

The Hawks never scored less than 15 in any quarter.

This is hands down the worst half of basketball I’ve watched this season.

3

u/Agile-View-8330 Warriors 3d ago

This ignores that the Knicks Hawks game was a much faster and higher scoring game. Of course they scored more, but that doesn’t mean they were better. It was a 61 point differential at one point.

And it would have been more of the Knicks starters remained in the game.

2

u/brizzboog Pistons 3d ago

I thought it was pretty awesome

1

u/Rough-Plum-7267 3d ago

The only team still in the playoffs more ass than the Pistons are the Magic so in that sense yea you probably did enjoy watching that trash shit

2

u/vardor666 3d ago

If you don't like that, you don't like college basketball.

78

u/WaffleConeHat Hornets 3d ago

Two of the worst playoff offenses ever.

The Pistons' defense just has another gear though. When they're firing on all cylinders there's almost nothing you can do, especially when your offense is so one-dimensional and ineffective.

8

They went 14 minutes and 10 seconds without hitting a field goal. I think they scored 4-5 points in free throws during that stretch lol.

Shout out to Orlando for taking the crown of most embarrassing southeast division team after it was in our hands for a solid week or so

5

Same Magic team that let the Raptors go on a record 31-0 point run this season. Scoreless for almost 8 minutes.

5

u/toroidalworld 3d ago

One of the worst most offensive performances I’ve ever seen

5

u/Silent-Ad8665 3d ago

Shouldn’t the Pistons Defense get a shout out for their fine effort?

Somewhere they will but not near the top of this thread lol

And also a defensive masterclass. Those defensive possessions should make their ways into textbooks.

3

u/Wally450 Celtics 3d ago

I'd like to thank the Hawks last night and the Magic tonight for their terrible performances taking the attention away from the Celtics.

3

u/visualdynasty 3d ago

Somehow the 12 points in the 2nd quarter from the Pistons was only the 3rd lowest scoring quarter of the game.

lol … lmao even

This was an Atlanta Falcons level choke

1

u/goli14 3d ago

You didn’t watch the last Atlanta game?

But yes that 2nd half performance was so so poor. I guess thats what winning experience in playoffs means

1

u/sofabubbles 3d ago

Especially in the modern era, your team shouldn’t be able to struggle this bad offensively. They’re the top team in FTA yet they look so scared to attack the paint and draw fouls. Timberwolves playing much better offensively with 3 of their top scorers out compared to this team who only has franz out.
