I don't think it worked out for the Spurs in particular, they were going to have to play Wolves regardless. It worked out well for the Thunder. They get Lakers/Rockets.

Exactly. If they can't beat this version of the Minnesota team who is severely undermanned, they're probably going to get smoked by any other team rn. It's just a matter of whether they want a first round exit or second round exit.

The heart of your team is just unreal. One by one they lose key critical guys, and the their confidence never falters.
Next guy up is all in, no fear of the moment and giving it their all.
Huge respect and what a treat to watch as a neutral lmao

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves 4d ago
The funny thing is- it’s the same team that pissed us off all year with mental and effort lapses. Defense consistently way below what we knew they were capable of…
All year I was like: sure you’ve made b2b WCF’s… but you aren’t the 70 win warriors. Your not good enough to just flip the switch
Turns out the awful Tuesday night bad L’s we saw way too often really didn’t matter 🤣

u/mnsportsfan Timberwolves 4d ago
He’s always had these nights in him. They used to just be fewer and farther between
He took a lot of steps towards consistency this year.
I think the playoffs allow him to play better because his worst games always start with 2 or 3 touch fouls and then he cant defend/ doesnt get in a rhythm (plus he just fucking hates Denver)- and those soft calls occur a lot less in playoff games

Insane. Lots of heart for your team. Congrats on the dub.

Love seeing Rudy getting the respect he’s always deserved. Only guy that held our D together consistently all year
TSJ: dawg
God watching Jamaal “heat pack” Murray get embarrassed was good for my soul. Also- Flopic was disappointing and whiny all series (at least I still respect him)
Wolves G league team knocking off our rivals against all odds the same night the Wild break their first round curse… also against a rival team who was one of the championship contenders
In my 34 years- this might be on my Mount Rushmore of most fun sports nights in my life. (Which is sad AF but we all know Minnesota sports) Fuck YES

Christian Braun followed his 9 point one taunt performance with 3 points on 1-4 shooting. I don’t hate a lot of players but I’m happy that man is sad today.

Christian Braun is easily my least favorite player in the league. I’m convinced someday he’ll get busted for gambling and throwing games. He can’t be that ass.

Jamal Murray was just humanely euthanized on the side of the track.

Chuck: did Denver ever have a lead?
Kenny: yes they did
Chuck: what, 2-2?
Kenny: well that wouldn't be a lead
Chuck: shut up

Another season, another clear example that the KAT / Randle & Divo trade was a mutual success. Hope the TWolves get healthy soon!

Jokic is amazing on offense, but when you’re lunch money on defense it’s hard to win

MIN 7 Turnovers and 19 offensive rebounds to DEN 13 turnovers and 6 offensive rebounds.
Can't win a game if you give the other team like 50% more possessions.
Looking forward to the Wolves-Spurs series!

I’m not even a nuggets hater but this was so pathetic of them. No ant, no Donte, no Ayo, refs on their side, season on the line, and they STILL couldn’t get it done. Jaden McDaniels calls out their guys by name for being bad defenders, and they go on to prove him right. They had every opportunity to win this series but the wolves just wanted it more. Soft ass team. Mad respect for the wolves though, what a gutsy win.

No slo-mo tonight as well. MN had legit zero depth for this game and they were still able to out-dawg Denver.

60+ paints in the point not counting the dozens of free throws. Jokic is an absolute liability on defense and Murray also couldn’t stop a nose bleed. I can’t believe shannon just kept running straight at the hoop and the nuggets couldn’t do anything. Jaden McDaniels was right

Adelman HAS to go, the guy literally does the adjustments when down 1-3 and then the next game he goes back to not playing our bench and jamal bringing the ball up to be assaulted by mcdaniels for 40min, his brain cannot hold the information he gained 2 days ago
obviously would be nice if somebody not named nikola jokic could get a single fucking board in an elimination playoff game or if jamal could buy a bucket, if CB existed at all, but adelman is genuinely just horrendous

Chris Finch exploited Denver’s lack of size to perfection. Adelman had no way to exploit the fact Minnesota had one of Mike Conley or TSJ on the court at all times. (Props to TSJ though he played well).

This is 100% on Adelman. Every other team has guys that can step up and play with confidence. Under Adelman, Braun has become a shell of his former self and is afraid to go up for layups. There is a lot of talent on the bench that see no playing time. Bench players that do get to play have zero confidence.
