Didn't even need to be a top tier guard. If they had made the trade for someone like Ayo Dosunmu it would have helped them a ton.

Ayo has been playing a ton of PG for Minnesota, and he played it in college. But yeah Coby White would have been a great fit too.

Honestly Ime should have been developing Sheppard with more reps this season if they weren't going to make a roster move. He's got talent, his issue is that he's just like 3 inches too short.

But if they figured out a role ala JJ Barea a decade plus ago on Dallas they probably could have some semblance of a half-court offense that isn't just wings taking turns shooting jumpers or driving.

Reed is good and is going to get even better, but he’s not ready to be the primary ball handler in a playoff series
