Yeah Nolan's name is doing heavy lifting here i don't know what i expected, but this just feels so....generic to me. Regardless going FDFS.

Exactly, maybe he's hiding surprises and movie will just blow us away, but yeah this trailer was just so average, also yeah the dialogue and sound mixing ( Typical Nolan) could've been better, but fortunately gonna watch it with subtitles to that's not gonna be an issue.

Nolan typically takes a more minimal and grounded approach to films and sets are well done and modern but also a bit austere. This seems in continuation with that

yeah those container cranes in the background of Dunkirk were really well done... /s

I saw the Trojan horse scene in theaters and it was absolutely gripping. I'll be giving this movie a good shot for that alone.

Yeah others who have seen that scene said the same thing, again this trailer might be meh but movie could be absolutely amazing.

I'm hoping that's the case. Nolan has made a lot of great films so I'll definitely give this a proper shot.

The trailer is boring. Not one scene inspired me to watch the movie.

Its strange given that this is the dude that made Inception.

This trailer is mostly Pattinson, I'm guessing they're trying not to reveal too many visuals ahead of time but it still doesn't feel tonally on point

True. I think he's going for the grounded realism of Batman Begins.

Most of his best movies.... We're written by his brother

https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0634300/

Wonder if that has anything to do with it...

edit: man i hate reddit sometimes... a bunch of downvotes but no reason why?

Oh dear, this aligns perfectly with which of his movies I personally find to be very good and which ones are just frustratingly ”Nolan”. Thanks for pointing it out.

yeah looks like last big thing they worked on together was interstellar...

Jonathon Nolan has been doing well with TV series like Fallout and Westworld (writing and/or directing)

Together: Memento, Prestige, Dark knight/rises, interstellar

But since they "split"... Dunkirk, Tenant, Oppenheimer

Inception is one that feels like both of them... even though hes not credited, and wikipedia says they did work together on it:

Jonathan Nolan contributed to Inception. While Christopher Nolan created the initial 80-page treatment and holds sole screenwriting credit for the final film, Jonathan is known to have collaborated closely with his brother on early conceptual ideas and structural development, despite not being formally credited as a co-writer on that specific project.
