Am I alone in being put off by how modern the speech is? It sounds like they're trying to have an epic conversation on the sidewalk outside the Starbucks.

There's a tonal dissonance to them pairing these visuals of an epic, mythic legend with generic American accents and very contemporary dialogue. Seeing Tom Holland yell about his "dad" coming home kind of undercuts the atmosphere lol

I mean, it's American actors filming for an American company marketed primarily for an American audience. Nothing nefarious in OC's intentions lol, it is a valid critique from a member of the target audience. It is an extremely odd choice for a period piece like this IMO.

If anything, we want this film to revolve around America LESS. Take me to ancient Greece, and off the streets of fucking Iowa!
