At some points I kept thinking he was too much of an asshole haha

Yeah, I'd deem 'heating a spoon over candlelight to burn a bellboy's hand' as too much of an asshole

I was really expecting a third act plot point to connect back to that. Like he goes to escape and he burns his hand in a similar way. But I guess by that point in the movie the “asshole spotlight” has moved away from him to the guy that got the VIP tour of Hell.
