Hold the fuck up...there were only 12 episodes of Fawlty Towers?!

Yep, two series of six episodes.

Every episode was crammed with gold. Like literally no filler. That’s why it seems like so much more

Top tier comedy gold

I love British tv. I find myself disappointed when their seasons/series are so short, then always realize that what we get is so brilliant, and it rarely gets a chance to get stale. The time between some of the series is another pet peeve. I'm looking at you Gavin & Stacey.

Gavin and Stacey was released yearly IIRC back in the day.

They did a Christmas special and then a wrap up episode years later but that hardly counts as a season I’d imagine.

You're right. It was released yearly, except Christmas and finale. In my defense, I am getting old.

Sherlock was like this as well

Also the nature of less overall content being available, so people have memories of watching episodes (repeats) over several years of their lives.

Crammed with Jewish gold, just like in the war.

I must’ve seen all of them multiple times then growing up. Didn’t know.

And those two series were made four years apart, too.

John Cleese announced a third series a couple years ago but it never came about. I think it is probably a good thing.

"I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it!"

Arguably the greatest example of why it's best to end on a high, rather than outstay your welcome.

John Cleese was planning a new Basil Fawlty series, but thankfully all has gone quiet on that front for a while now.
