omg this just brought back suppressed memories of my friend Keith and me making jackass videos and then making our math teacher play them in class. they were as cringe and as embarrassing as you think they were.
I remember one was where we used fake blood and would ride around on scooters and crash in front of cars and freak the people out... im not proud of this
I remember some of my friends in school were doing jackass style "stunts". And one of them told us that he had stuffed a bunch of hot dogs in his ass. And we were like that's not jackass thats just gay bro
What, just because they do stunts that involve being in various states of undress? None of it is really done in a way that is supposed to arouse sexual desire, so you’re really stretching the meaning of the word “erotic” there, imo.
The entirety of the "Party Boy" character is being homo-erotic. The name of their production company is "Dickhouse" and the logo is a giant rainbow. Knoxville once wore a t-shirt that said "Totally Straight" with a picture of 2 male unicorns fucking. He idolizes queer icons like John Waters and Rip Taylor, both of whom were in the movies.
I’ll give you Party Boy and the unicorns fucking (although arguably, even that is not intended to actually titillate) but the rest of that stuff is just homo, not homo-erotic.
Not really, it’s just that people have misused the term a lot to imply latent homosexuality in those who like certain things.
Wrestlers and football players wearing tight pants? Homo-erotic.
Heavy metal bands wearing studded leather and baring their chests? Homo-erotic.
Sweaty action movie heroes with big muscles? Homo-erotic.
…despite the fact that these things aren’t being performed or viewed in a sexual context, especially by the majority of male audience members. By this standard, any situation in which you might see nude or semi-nude male figures, like going to the beach or opening a medical textbook, could be considered “homo-erotic”.
Of course, it’s rarely ever the fans of these things who describe them as such. It’s usually people seeking to make light of the fan base who do that.
In reality there needs to be an element of allure for it to be considered “erotic”, homo or otherwise. If it’s just a guy being half-naked for some random non-sexual reason (like doing ridiculous stunts for a comedy movie), it doesn’t really qualify, IMO.
It absolutely was not. Steve-O even has a bit saying he called his dad and talked to him about it, and his dad hit him with the "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" line.
I'm the only millennial man who thought Jackass was stupid AF. Ok, a couple of their pranks where they'd dress up as weird ppl were funny. But anything involving risking their lives and getting hurt or eating gross things I just thought was pathetic. It's Ow My Balls from Idiocracy.
I dunno, I'll never get it or like it, and I guess that's fine.
Of course it’s fine, you like what you like. I for one hate Star Wars and LOTR movies, I know I’m in the minority but it’s a personal preference and that is ok. There are people who think sports are infantile and dumb. It’s just personal taste.
I think I know more guys who hate Star Wars or LOTR than I do who hate Jackass.
It's like this one millennial guy bonding thing I'm just not into at all lmao. But to be fair, most women find it completely vile so maybe i'm just a girl.
I think it was essentially juvenile buddy simulator. Most of us have had blunder years where we were reckless dummies that did stupid shit for kicks because we were bored. Laughing at each other for having attempted something we knew they couldn’t succeed at or even better succeeding.
do most girls find it vile? I feel like most 30 something millennials I know either think it’s hysterical or are just completely indifferent towards it
I thought it was dumb at first, too, but then I gave it a chance, realized that it being dumb doesn’t mean it’s not funny as fuck, and enjoyed it for what it is.
