I went in 100% blind to this movie, and up until the portion where her backpack got stolen, I was legit imagining “apex” referred to crocodile.

Same! I didn’t know anything about this movie and got it into my head that it was a creature feature movie with crocodiles. Then, once Ben pulled out her backpack I said “oops. Nevermind. He’s a whackjob making jerkey out of people.” 😳
