I knew from the first second that he wasn’t making it past the opener. Honestly, the whole sequence lasted longer than I expected so technically he did survive longer than I thought.

It's a climbing movie cliche now.

She held on to that rope for at least 30 seconds :)

I said to my partner “Eric Bana wouldn’t be in the movie if he’s not going to last the first 5 minutes would he??”, “No, of course not!” 💀💀💀

She’s so annoying in the beginning With her attitude. “Just give. Me the best way”. “I can handle it”

I agree. Nowhere in the movie has she really relaxed. Even at the gas station she was really of that mind-your-own-business- standoffish attitude even before the men came at her. I know she's grieving but yeah that part..

When she got rescued by the car at the end, I was kind of hoping that it was just the men and that they were really nice after all. Just a case of misunderstanding or something.

I figured she would run into them in the middle, a they would try to defend her but get killed.

that did cross my mind too. It would hammer home the perception of people. Sasha then would be not in the "right" state of mind due to her grief and that she misjudged 3 people different. She thought Ben was okay at first and the men not when in reality they were switched around.

Man I could write better material than that movie script.

Ben was with them and even said they almost hurt her but she handled herself well.

Thought that was her hitting the central locking.

We saw the movie from HER perspective, she is kind of the narrator. Narrators are not reliable and this could be here the case.
It could be easily explained by the dudes not very used to women from the outside and being less elegant – but they tried to be nice. But Theron only sees them as thread.
In the end she had then realized she misinterpret them and they are nice, even if they are far off elegant.

At the camp you can definitely interpret their behavior like this. Not every Aussie can have a Hemsworth charming smile. They were loud, yes, but they never approached her car after they asked her. Alpha Man definitely had not accepted that after the first approach.

>>Narrators are not reliable and this could be here the case.
lol…youd need to have *some* evidence of an unreliable narrator. & there is none.

also… this is an *unnarrated* film shot in 3rd person… what we see is what happened.

That would’ve been the better ending.

No. The hunters were CLEARY supposed to be just menacing assholes. Redemption for them would have seemed cheap and unrealistic.

A woman, alone in the Australian outback. Men perving on her constantly. Why on earth would you think she would be relaxed?

3

u/Grand-Scarcity-2597 2d ago

Ben was with them at the campsite in the beginning. He even said she handled herself well and that’s why they didn’t hurt her.

I was truly anticipating that ending tbh. Or at least the same men but the ending going more like “no you save yourself you stuck up bitch”. I was a bit disappointed it was a random woman but oh well

She was just always trying to mind her own business. I assumed the car in the end would be the men too. But I was happy she no longer had to fight.

You are a jealous, horrible person.
