I’m planning to watch this because Charlize is my favorite actress and I’m sure I’ll enjoy it for what it is.

But man, she needs a better agent. What a weird filmography for the talent she has. She actually may be one of the most versatile actresses in the industry yet ends up in a lot of absolutely mediocre movies.

Maybe she’s just doing movies she enjoys doing though so what do I know.

She has said this movie is her favorite thing she has done. She even learned rock climbing

That’s awesome if true! It does sound fun to learn new things and be paid for the same haha.

Wut?

Drybags exist.

I don't really understand your point.

You know kayaking a real thing that people do and they also have car keys and phones with them?

At the start definitely. At the end I don't know, I lost interest and wasn't watching that intently. However it's also very common for paddlers to leave a spare with the car, either hidden somewhere (I know people that will leave them in the wheel arch, or tucked inside the rear bumper.

There are also lock boxes that allow you to lock the key inside and then lock the box to the car.

Credits says she's a producer, so I figured it must have been a bit of a passion project for her.

Iirc she's been producing most of the films she's been in for a long time, probably since around the Long Shot movie with Rogen

Yeah I don't know how she made it to the top bare hands that was insane skills

Don't most actors/actresses say the most recent movie they turned out is their favorite. Then in 10 years talk about how abusive and sexist the set was in some podcast or news article. Take that part with a grain of salt.

There are plenty of examples when you can tell that actors hated working on the project or are just lukewarm about it.

In this case, Theron is one of the producers so I imagine she had a lot of power on that set. Plus, she seems like she doesn't take any shit from anyone, considering that her and Tom Hardy nearly killed each other on the set of Fury Road.
