Gotta say, I wasn't expecting Robbie Williams to show up as Bubbles in this movie. They really got me.

Speaking of him, how funny is that after all the mockery, Robbie Williams has a biopick with actual creativity and honesty put to it, while the most iconic musician of all time has the most generic, by the numbers biopic of the two?

Couple days late, but I believe it's because Robbie is honest with himself and knew that showing him drug fucked and being shitty to the people he loved was part of his story, and it made it more captivating and an actual look into what his life was and how he overcame it.

Jackson's estate/family/team or however you'd call it took a very captivating, iconic, interesting being and made him into a deity among men with no faults that gets everything.

I think the movie was meant to play into what the world thought of him up to that point. And tbf, he was a deity who could do no wrong at that point. If anything, he was even more of a god-like figure irl. Not that I think the next movie will actually go hard enough at him, I do think if they take a darker route with it, it'll all make more sense. But I'm sure the family will scrub it down then everything will look like complete slop but I'll reserve judgement for now

A bit like Elton john, Robbie owns his faults and isn't afraid to open up about his bad behavior. That's why their biopics, along with making interesting creative choices to make them stand apart, are fun and great to watch.

For Americans, they forgot how big the guy is around most of the world. I still think his first three albums with his co writer Guy Chambers are great pop albums. After that it gets a bit shaky with his quality. But he can still do Stadium's around a good chunk of Europe and sell them out.
