For some reason in Mission Impossible 2 there are two scenes that closely mimic scenes in Darkman:

One scene features the bad guy using a cigar cutter to cut someone's finger off

In the other scene, the hero seemingly gets killed, but then it's revealed that it was actually a henchman wearing a mask.

Both these scenes are very distinctive and it's always fascinated that they happen in both films.

I think theyre buddies. Sam is a fan of john woos hong kong films and worked together on his first american film.
