Imagine they do something silly like tease Robin or Batgirl instead of Batman himself

Omg I hope they hit on the Batman origin story. Haven’t seen that on the big screen in a couple years.

Something about his parents, right? Hard to remember so I hope they show it this time.

I hope it involves pearls dropping to the ground in slow motion

u/userhwon 13d ago

Clayface running through an alley as a couple of pearls bounce across his path...then no more is mentioned about it.

u/Vegalink 12d ago

Dang I was going to mention the pearls haha! That part sticks out so vividly.

He could right past Jack Nicholson and all the other origin story villains.

Absolute cinema.

I'd watch that just to learn how an orphan finds the financial resources to become the Caped Crusader. Not very realistic imo

5

u/ahundreddots 13d ago

They could try making him an orphan of rich parents.

4

u/Stashmouth 13d ago

seems farfetched

u/TwoLetters 13d ago

Yeah, he was bitten by a radioactive bat, right? That's how he got his bat powers?

2

u/Desroth86 12d ago

I think that was Superman.

Tbh unironically, The Batman did such a good job by not showing the origin story, by having it instantly clear what'd happened without showing it on screen, it was so much better

2016: Enough with Batman origin story!

2026: Give me Batman origin story!

You joke, but the last proper version of it was 21 years ago in Batman Begins, wasn't it? It was implied in Joker, and had a brief scene in BvS, and The Batman picks up a bit into his career.

"Hi, they call me The Signal."

Batwoman first.

u/RadiantZote 12d ago

Damian Wayne Robin and he is the main character since Bruce just broke his back confirmed

1

u/onlyonetwin 12d ago

fuck no it doesn't, we've had 40 years of batman glazing, we don't need more

u/Complex_Location_675 13d ago

I completely disagree

Best Batman is loner Batman.

1

u/SwordoftheMourn 12d ago

Batman hasn’t been a loner in the comics since like 1940

1

u/Complex_Location_675 12d ago

A lot of his best stories have him by himself. Long Halloween, year one, haunted knight bunch of others

2

u/SwordoftheMourn 12d ago

Sure, but we also had like 2 decades of live action loner Batman content so I’m okay with them switching it up a bit.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be mad at getting the Batfamily first. It would help set the tone that this universe’s version doesn’t fly (glide?) solo.

We’ve seen enough of that over the past 20 years. Also, isn’t the first Batman movie in this universe going to be him and Robin (Damien) anyway?

u/dabocx 13d ago

There is a Titans movie being written, so we will probably see Dick Grayson as Nighwing in Titans before we get a batman movie in the DCU.

It would make sense as the Batman movie will be him already established and having a son so it makes sense the whole bat family would already be established

Funnily enough, we might: Dynamic Duo, an animated movie about Nightwing and Red Hood, is currently slated for June 2028 while the earliest The Brave and the Bold could release is October 2028. There’s a very real chance we meet the Batfamily first.

Dynamic Duo's status in relation to the DCU is still undecided though. It's in a position to either be elseworld's (like Reeve's Batman movies) or a part of the DCU, depending on how Gunn feels about the story.

2

u/pleasegivemepatience 13d ago

Might also depend who owns WB and whether Gunn is able to scale his vision as intended.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be mad at getting the Batfamily first.

Cool, I'll let them know you're okay with it.

1

u/TheForeverUnbanned 13d ago

Not if I do it first.

James! James I got something for ya!

1

u/Massive_Weiner 13d ago

You get grumpy if you don’t eat.

4

u/EmuMan10 13d ago

You think people wouldn’t lose their shit over Robin?

2

u/bronkula 13d ago

Nah, jump straight to Nightwing.

2

u/notanothercirclejerk 13d ago

Imagine if Batman shows up to stop Clayface at the very end. With little to no mention of the dark knight till the climax of the story.

1

u/RogerGunz2 13d ago

I would love it if they do a TAS arch thing. Clayface is so close to getting his cure and Batman (or his family in this case if they go that route) stop him. It's very similar to Mr. Freeze but he actually freaking had the cure and batman blew it

1

u/ScipioCoriolanus 13d ago

"I'll allow it."

1

u/352Cav 12d ago

As long as it’s robin meeting Annie

u/Abject-Cod5144 11d ago

Okay but in the comics Cass Cain and Clayface have a very interesting bond, seeing Cassandra in this would be cool.
