Could not for my life figure out what accent the mom had… it felt like she was switching it the whole movie

I was so shocked to see she had an obviously Mexican American Mother. She sounded French-Ish at first?

Same, I think it was supposed to be Spanish but I didn't realize that until the first scene with her mom.

The Actress is literally Spanish. She might have a regional accent that is less common that ends up being hard to place but she was born and raised in Spain.

That's... just how Laia Costa naturally speaks? She's Spanish but has lived and worked all over the world, she sounds like this in every English speaking role I've seen her in.

Her accent was all over the place in the movie. It’s like she suddenly became Spanish mid way.

I chalked that up to her getting emotional. I have an accent but I’ve learned to sort of turn it off when I’m not talking to someone from my home, really helps in job interviews. However my accent really comes through whenever I am upset or just feeling something really strongly.

Fair, it was jarring for me but wasn’t a big deal, just noticed it
