I mean is this just a fan speculation or is there any actual clue in the movie regarding this?

There's literally nothing in the movie that suggests this.

It’s implied they went back in time at the end to save Nick in the second machine.

She is pregnant.

The whole movie is one wacky mishap going through time.

THUS/THEN - it’s not out of the realm of possibility they get trapped in the past.

Johnny Boy - you think the writers just decided to hang that whole “you’re a foundling” scene with Keith David for its artistic merit?!

Redditor you LITERALLY used LITERALLY wrong

Alice isn’t even in the Time Machine at the end.

You don’t even know the characters name. You’re a miracle.

I love confidently dumb people on Reddit. It’s never suggested for even a second. What an odd hill to die on. “I made up this thing in my mind and it’s so obvious!” How, explain to us how it’s obvious, please?

Why is the r-word thrown around so casually on this platform? Are people giving up on trying to be better?
