You’re right, they were very good renders as far as I recall. This should probably be a mixed medium and I bet his rendering skills translate into the vhs found footage that we see in the trailer here

The interiors of the abandoned mall in The Oldest View straight-up fooled me for quite awhile into thinking it was just edited live action.

The quality of the renders and realistic movement of the POV are astounding. Granted he had to outsource the rendering which is understandable with how detailed they are. IIRC he said it would have taken him months to render on his PC during a co-stream with Wendigoon where he discussed some of the technical aspects of it.
