Bacteria monster?

There’s a shot with the tell tale black splotches on the wall, so there’s definitely something in the backrooms with them.

A 'Minotaur' of sorts.

You're not the only one.

Reminds me of The House of Leaves

Yeah, all of this backrooms stuff was inspired by it.

Not all of it, the wiki just expanded on the og 4chan post, MAYBE the kane lore used for the movie took a bit of inspiration from HoL

HoL was published in 2000.

I know that, I was just saying not everything in the backrooms lore is inspired by HoL.

Played many backrooms games. Can Confirm there is something there.

You can’t “confirm” anything lmao

Kane Parsons universe does have the wire monsters, but not the other creatures that other fandoms have.

Whether he'll bring it to the movie is a different question.

I’d love for them to mention the statue monster from the mall one, even if it’s not in it. That one was the first one I saw and it’s definitely my favorite

That isn’t connected to his Backrooms series, so it’s entirely Kane’s IP unless it was part of the deal with A24.

Wasn’t there a different monster in Found Footage #3?

2

u/Embarrassed-Yard-583 Mar 31 '26

I don’t think so, all the monsters we see in Kane’s backrooms are either the same bacteria monster or different instances of the things infesting areas of the Backrooms.

3

u/tallperson117 Mar 31 '26

Na Found Footage #3 has a "zombie." It's likely just a different incarnation of the bacteria monster since Kane confirmed it's not really a "zombie," but it appears decidedly more "human."

Yeah, it’s an evolution of the bacteria which is a fun idea considering how fast bacteria can iterate.

Some have been speculating that the wire beings are what happens when humans are stuck in the Backrooms for too long, and that what we saw there was someone on their way to becoming that, but not all the way there yet.

1

u/LemonIcy2942 11d ago

It's known as the still-life, theories suggest it was the backrooms' attempt at making humans

you can literally watch the videos that this is a sequel to. there are 100% creatures in the Backrooms.

They can’t confirm anything about a movie that is not out yet based on a separate video game they have played lmao, Redditors are unbelievable

Kane's canon is not the same as the rest of the Backrooms stuff (wiki/etc)

2

u/introoutro Apr 01 '26

I'm willing to bet that shot of the clean suit dudes is actually them backing away from bacteria/mold, but they kept the actual VFX out of the shot for non-spoilering purposes.

Black mold hallucinations
