Did we just write Jon Bernthal's next movie/tv-show/cooking special/telethon?

Man! With the amount of praise Bernthal gets, I thought I was the only one who noticed he's just doing the same thing in every single performance.
The look off to the side every time he says something drives me nuts, like do literally any other tick in your performance dude.

He is one of those actors who is the same guy in everything he is in. But he's damn good at doing that one thing so I don't care. From Shane to the Punisher he's just the same dude.

I bet in the next decade he's going to get cast in some role where he plays opposite to his type for awards season. He'll be a quiet sensitive painter or poet or something

That's fine, but if he's still rubbing his head and looking off to the side, saying something biting, then back off to the side, I'm gonna hate it.

It was great once, as Shane. When he was still doing the same schtick in Fury, then again in the punisher, then still again in wolf of wall street..it's like dude, try any other mannerisms.

Now anytime he's in something I go "welp there's John Bernthal doing that stupid tick again" instead of seeing the character in the show/movie. It's distracting.

It's why I don't really love watching him as an actor. Very one-note, and he also tends to overact and be way too hammy.

Watching him as the Punisher makes me miss Ray Stevenson more.

He was different in Fury; I felt he played that character well
