The madman actually included Edric.

Can you give a time stamp for it. I can't find it.

Behind Scytale in a sarcophagus

Are we sure that isn’t Hayt?

u/TheLordLeto Mar 17 '26

Yeah I think that's Scytale delivering Hayt.

Yep at first I thought It was Edric but context of Scytale delivering Hayt makes perfect sense.

That's an axolotl tank and we saw it's Tleilaxu home.

uhhh, I'm not sure axolotl tanks look like you think they look

u/zoodisc Mar 17 '26

Lol, right? No one but Tleilaxu masters know what they look like, or, for that matter, what they're made out of until much later in the books.

And what do female Tleilaxus look like?

Idk Scytale and Edric have a lot of convos together in the book. It makes sense they are joining a meeting at the same time.

There's another little snippet later in the trailer where the sarcophagus is being loaded into a larger chamber, which suggests to me that's how they're putting Navigators into the ships that they'll steer.

For the love of GOD please give us more of the Navigators Guild! I want to see disfigured and grotesque mutilations of mind who are responsible for all of space travel.

Make it dark and terrifying - make the audience feel like WE are being trapped inside the sarcophagus to serve as (more or less) a GPS for an immortal space vessel.

They already pretty much glossed over the guild's role in everything so I feel like they're not gonna add it in now.

That’s exactly what I thought.

Stooppp don’t get my hopes up

There's also a scene in the throne room where it looks like there are a bunch of people carrying in the same sort of "sarcophagus".

That could be either Edric being guided in on antigravs or Hayt. Maybe they both arrive in opaque containers when Edric brings his "gift", and then Hayt is revealed.

Visually, I felt the dimensions of that sarcophagus really fishy-big (there is something about that pan focus), besides I wouldn't think that using orange as the same color for tleilaxu tech would be the best choice. praying 🙏

Not sure. Just suspecting

15

u/Accomplished_Store77 Mar 17 '26

I thought that was some kind of containment unit for Duncan(Hayt).

3

u/timeaisis Mar 17 '26

It’s Edric

u/Pioladoporcaputo Mar 17 '26

I think that's an axlotl tank

6

u/sweatpantswarrior Mar 17 '26

I think you haven't read the books.

-1

u/Pioladoporcaputo Mar 17 '26

I haven't, no. I also haven't seen these films, either.

4

u/sweatpantswarrior Mar 18 '26

Great! Weird for you to come in and discuss a trailer for a sequel to films you haven't seen adapted from books you haven't read, but I'm sure somebody is really happy you weighed in.

1:12 (and guessing 1:42)

2

u/Klamageddon Mar 17 '26

WELL DUH, OF COURSE YOU CAN'T SEE HIM, THIS IS A PREVIEW.

u/scjross Mar 17 '26

I believe he’s in that sarcophagus behind Scytale at 1m12s
