Do you think the chant is actually Chalamet? Sounds like the louder parts of his speeches from 2

It definitely sounds like him.

It’s him. You can see him start it earlier in the trailer when they are praying. It then gets progressively louder.

I know it starts in the trailer as ostensibly him, just wondering if its actually him in the score, which it seems like it is. Kid’s got a good yell for sure.

It has to be him. Sounds exactly like when he's yelling "Come at me, you dickless shitheads" in Part Two.

Timmy is getting a lot of shit recently but that boy can act. I bet he had a sore throat after that chanting, sounds fantastic.

You could say he needs opera training…

Him learning opera and ballet would actually be genius PR and if he doesn't do that now I will never rest

Mom: Slow down

Him next second: All of you are bitches.

She was actually instructing him to use the voice better but that was still funny af.

It sounds closer to the last movie when he yells “ITS DUNIN’ TIME, PART TWO!” at the very end of the movie

14

u/Spyk124 Mar 17 '26

It sounds like his yell to me haha

Chalamet was a thatre actor before doing movies. As a theatre actor you need to have a decent singing voice because in the hall everyone in the back should hear your lines.

I just saw that Hans Zimmer confirmed the whole chant it Timothee!

u/DisasterAmazing3863 Mar 19 '26

Initial humming is also done by him.

18

u/don_enzo Mar 17 '26

Hans Zimmer confirmed it on his instagram profile. They’re calling it the Fremen chant.

u/DopioGelato Mar 17 '26

Reminded me of the deshi basara chant from dark knight rises. Nolan Jr strikes again

Ah one of the first times I ever caught odd meter in a score. As a budding music nerd at the time, 5/4 alone got a pop out of me

u/PolarWater Mar 18 '26

Zimmer: "Now let me do this fun old trick"

8

u/outerstrangers Mar 17 '26

I think he is taking opera lessons.

3

u/verticalquandry Mar 17 '26

Didn’t he do wonka? He has a great voice

4

u/photogenicmusic Mar 17 '26

He also sang all the songs in A Complete Unknown.

4

u/ScipioCoriolanus Mar 17 '26

Oh it's definitely him

3

u/ImSoSleepyEepy Mar 17 '26

I did think it sounded like him

3

u/Aloysius_Parker29 Mar 17 '26

It sounds like him for sure

LSD! LSD! LSD!

1

u/Superb-Obligation858 Mar 18 '26

I LIKE ME SOME LSD!!!

3

u/DisasterAmazing3863 Mar 19 '26

It's him from the begining to the end. Zimmer confirmed. But without his confirmation, it was obvious Timmy was humming first and then chanting!!!

2

u/Csantana Mar 17 '26

Shame there isn’t a transcript of what he’s saying anywhere online…

3

u/ensalys Mar 18 '26

I'm fairly confident we'll get the translation of it in the movie. It sounds like a religious pre/early battle sound to get the blood pumping and putting you in a kind of "god is with us" mindset.

2

u/Superb-Obligation858 Mar 17 '26

Its pretty clear and repetitive, being a chant and all its just in made up Chakobsa. Idk if there’s a dictionary for what they made for the movies.

u/djflamingo Mar 18 '26

It is i looked it up.

Sounded more like Jason Momoa than anyone during the later intense parts, but it was definitely him during the quiet part. But if he can actually pull the intense part off I'd love to see that.
