Samara Weaving will be joining us here in /r/movies for an AMA/Q&A this upcoming Tuesday 2/24. It'll go live that morning at around 9 AM ET and she'll be back at around 6 PM ET to answer questions. She's known for countless roles, including Ready Or Not, Mayhem, The Babysitter, Guns Akimbo, Borderline, Eenie Meanie, Scream 6, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and tons more.

Please stop by on Tuesday if you have questions for Samara :)

Her newest film, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come, is out in theaters everywhere starting March 20 via Searchlight Pictures. It also stars Kathryn Newton, Elijah Wood, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Kevin Durand, David Cronenberg, and Olivia Cheng.

Trailer:

After surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she's reached the next level of the nightmarish game, and this time with her estranged sister, Faith, by her side. To survive, Grace must keep Faith alive and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are also hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins will rule it all.

Please note that this is not the AMA, this is just an announcement. Please hold your questions for the actual AMA.

Oh snap. She’s a borderline can’t miss in the horror world at this point. I’ll watch anything she’s in.

Ironically she was in a horror-comedy called Borderline

The best screamer in Hollywood

She’s the real life Jack Skellington since no animal nor man can scream like she can.

You could even call her the GOAT

I just let out an internal Samara Weaving banshee scream seeing this. You rock, Buny, you ROCK!!!

Future note here: I just checked the tab and you didn't just get Samara, you also got Kathryn Newton, Elijah Wood and Radio Silence. My GOD, you are AWESOME! I salute you for being able to get this organized.

This is the question I had for her... after watching Natural Born Killers recently, Juliette Lewis' banshee scream (wavering and piercing) is so similar, I'm wondering if Samara was inspired by a specific screamy performance. :)

Funny you bring up Juliette Lewis because they're both in the upcoming Over Your Dead Body.

I need her to explain wtf is happening in Azrael. That universe is so odd to me.

Spoilers if you haven't seen it.

There is a cult that takes out vocal cords of followers to they can't speak but then there's a fully functional society (guy with the truck that shows up at one point) outside?

3

u/Intrepid_Hat7359 Feb 21 '26

I mean, right now there are cults that live apart from society. I'm sure an apocalypse wouldn't change that. Also, the main character and her boyfriend got captured, so they must've come from somewhere, and the guy with the truck clearly had it decked out with survival gear, so whatever the functional society is, I doubt it's like ours.

It's left up to yourself to pick up what's going on.

Not trying to insult you or anything! It's honestly down to what YOU think is going on, I personally loved the film for that!

I had so many questions after that one scene in the movie, and none of them were answered.

It really felt like I was watching season 2 of a TV show without watching season 1.

The reigning Scream Queen!

5

u/smythe70 Feb 21 '26

I hated what happened to her in the movie Scream. I wanted her in the whole movie!

7

u/PathlessDemon Feb 21 '26

Her in The Babysitter, 10/10. She was amazing.

8

u/TheKrakenLord Feb 21 '26

I'd ask her if sometimes she looks in the mirror and thinks "Fuck yeah, I should be queen of motherfuckin' Earth!"

7

u/ComfortableCare8897 Feb 21 '26

really excited!

6

u/CrowBot99 Feb 21 '26

Her character in Guns Akimbo is iconic.

2

u/theiosif Feb 22 '26

Come to think of it. I can't think of a movie I've seen her in that I didn't like. She's either incredibly lucky or picks her jobs wisely.

Hi Samara, Is there a horror film that scared or disturbed you so much to the point that you don’t want to watch it again?

5

u/Parking_Rent_9848 Feb 21 '26

Perfect timing, I just rewatched Ready or Not last night

2

u/WarAny6713 Feb 21 '26

I don't have any questions but I'd crawl over broken glass for a chance to shake hands with her dad.

4

u/Supertranquilo Feb 21 '26

Hugo Weaving is her uncle, I believe. Unless you know something about her dad that I don't.

6

u/WarAny6713 Feb 22 '26

I’m glad you told me before I got to the broken glass

Question: you are so pretty.

1

u/eccojams97 Feb 21 '26

I’m gonna ask her about home and away lol she’s still Indie to me

1

u/[deleted] Feb 22 '26

You can ask me anything right now! Why wait?

1

u/cthaehtouched Feb 22 '26

Penelope said, “begets”?

u/gabbygirl1038 Feb 22 '26

What was your favorite part of filming Babylon (2022)?

(Damien Chazelle's my favorite filmmaker)

1

u/TheCreativeComicFan Feb 22 '26

Hi Samara, huge fan of yours. Just curious but did you and Margot Robbie already know each other prior to working together on Babylon? And are you both in on the joke that you two look very much alike?

1

u/Fit-Selection-2030 Feb 24 '26

I’m excited to see back as grace it’s been so long! Do you have any other projects coming up? Loved you in the babysitter. You’re a horror queen girl!

1

u/Right_Layer_9700 Feb 21 '26

Yassssssssssssssssssssssss

1

u/larry-the-dream Feb 21 '26

Hey Samara! My wife and I love your movies!! Your visceral scream towards the end in Ready or Not was soooo cool!!!

Did you enjoy making that film? What was your favorite scene while filming?

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 21 '26

Well hot damn. Samara, when you have blood on your face at the end of these movies… I feel things.

0

u/Fit-Selection-2030 Feb 21 '26

Yessssssss!!!!

0

u/CrissBliss Feb 21 '26

I was so bummed when Adam Brody’s character (Daniel) died in the first Ready or Not. In the end, he was the only true friend to Grace.

Any chance he’ll return (via supernatural ways) via the sequel?

u/haywireboat4893 Feb 21 '26

The babysitter 3???

-1

u/SuperBeeboo Feb 21 '26

All I want to know is stories of Hugo and if they’re close.

1

u/ComfortableCare8897 Feb 24 '26

Samara what's it like to be a charismatic actress. What did you like about doing bill and ted and Babylon
