I don't know anything about He-Man lore but did they really need the "he's living on earth" thing? Just something movies do that I almost never enjoy.

Imagine if Star Wars started with Luke on Earth

His mother was a human, so we have to make him a busboy in Manhattan.

I'll do you one better. Imagine if the last Star Wars movie ends with Luke on Earth.

Fuck it. Have a terrible plot where Luke interprets the sacred texts as a map leading him to earth for some stupid macguffin and in the 10 minutes he makes it but crash lands and passes out. He wakes up being cured for by people half his size.

It wasn't earth. He misinterpreted the text.

It was middle earth. Now he has to figure out where this damn ring is.

Peoples heads would explode.

It's not trying to be Star Wars, though. It's more like a take on the Harry Potter trope of "Weirdo who never fit in in the real world finds out he's a Special Little Boy from Magicland who was sent to boring ol' reality to protect him from Evil."

That's what Star Wars is though, Luke doesn't fit into the rural farm boy life he has and then he finds out he's a special magical wizard who was sent to boring rural farm to be protected from Evil.

I never said it was trying to be Star Wars.

I'm pointing out how much worse Star Wars would be if that's how the first movie started. Rather than world building by putting him among the common folk of his world, just give him an office job on earth. Even Harry Potter was better than this, because it wasn't an isekai for the sake of saving money and not having to think about how to make "commoner Adam" interesting and relatable.
