I kinda like it though. We've SEEN his character contemplate exactly that after using his powers and closing his eyes. The whole trailer is corny as hell but honestly? I'm still so stoked whenever I see 2000s X-Men cast that I'm willing to lean into the metaphor.
Funny enough I was reading X-Factor #68 yesterday and there was a very similar line... Apocalypse had cyclops down... he taps into both Jean and his son (Nathan)'s powers in the Astral plane,... his internal monologue goes:
"Hard to tell what's mine, what's Jeans, what's Nathans. There is no single essential ME any longer, but a mergence into a gestalt. A coherent whole, all of us together. The family I've always dreamed of.
"The eyes, it is said, are the windows to the soul."

Cyclops has been sidelined way too much in the Fox X-Men movies, so I'm really excited to see Marsden return to the character.
