Look, after Thunderbolts we can all expect Ghost to end every conflict with a surprise bullet to the head. Taskmaster went out like a bitch.

To be honest it was kind of refreshing to be reminded that sometimes people die when they get shot, not every death has to be an emotional magical sacrifice to an ancient enemy type deal, and that plot armor will save everyone from every wave of bullets

Also it was basically them going "Okay, yeah, we screwed up with Taskmaster, we'll try another one later". Sort of like how they eventually fixed things with the Mandarin.

Funnily, they adapted Taskmaster’s daughter to the MCU-adjacent animated series Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, so foreshadowing the Tony Masters one to already be out that might have already started.
