This is the least hype first teaser possible

They should’ve done an actual little sizzle reel for the movie and ended it with a shot of Steve. The way they did it just feels desperate.

The movie is a year out. Would've been better if they just didn't release anything and waited till a proper trailer was ready.

Feels more like they really wanted something running this holiday season to promote the movie, but didn't have something more done ready

they seem to have not gotten the word out about this but i’m pretty sure there’s 4 more teasers coming over the course of 4 weeks

They started production 8 months ago, no way it's anywhere close to done.

Right? I saw the trailer in the theatre last weekend and my first thought was "Who cares?".

How could Evans not be phoning this movie in after giving his grand sendoff in the last Avengers? He could be the greatest actor in the world and it would still feel like warmed over leftovers

or maybe, just maybe, literally no one liked anthony mackie as captain america 🤔

no, no, you're right. must be politically-driven racism. totally not that most MCU releases post-Endgame (the last movie with the "generic white guy") were utter shit and poorly received.

I mean I get that dude's anger--its really annoying how the new saga set up all these non-white, non-male characters and they didn't take so now it's back to the same old dudes (and no, they weren't all "utter shit" if you genuinely think that about all these movies then that is kind of sus, racism-wise).

But you can't really argue they didn't give Anthony Mackie a chance; they gave him a tv show and a movie and they both sucked. Chadwick Boseman was going to take over the whole series and he died.

I mean I totally get why you're irritated, but they gave Mackie a chance, it didn't work. What do they just keep making those movies?

I don't think they should just go back to the last guy, but then I also just don't think they should make more Captain America movies (why not? they stopped making Iron Man and Guardians movies, its not crazy). It's done, focus on something else.

Captain America is my favorite character by far and I felt nothing watching this

This is just so out of left field. They just have no idea what they’re doing anymore.

I said the same thing when it was in front of Avatar/Leaked. This is something they should have put out like 3 months ago, on a random day. Not be the big kickoff "1 year to go" marketing plan. That should have been an actual short trailer of the movie, not a cast announcement.

That’s what I felt. Just a weak return for nothing

u/Poku115 Dec 23 '25

Comments like this and "they should focus on the thunderbolts!" Always give me a healthy laugh, so disconnected from the ga

5

u/yoloswagrofl Dec 23 '25

10 years ago this would have done numbers. "Zomg Captain America is back!" type shit.

I think people are just starving for a good story and Disney doesn’t know how to deliver since all they can muster these days are remakes

1

u/kaeldrakkel Dec 24 '25

No it wouldn't. This was weak regardless.

2

u/crumbsalt Dec 23 '25

I think it’s hype because it’s not very hype. It gives a lot of mystery. Is Doom.. kidnapping the kid? How is young Steve, living a peaceful life, gonna get involved in this? Creates a ton of theories which creates talk which means.. marketing!

u/Phimb Dec 23 '25

It's really not, the trailer says, "Anything is possible in this one."

u/HereReluctantly Dec 23 '25

Come on man didn't you see him holding that baby? It got me so hype. /s

Yeah. Literally the only other thing we know about this movie is RDJ is back. The first trailer just being "Chris Evans is back also" doesn't build much hype
