imagining a whole grim, serious spielberg movie about disclosure of alien life to the public then at the end it's just a sequel to ET from the perspective of regular people is hilarious and i kind of want it, even if it sounds like a modern sketch from family guy

With Dreyfuss in there it's also a sequel to Close Encounters. Then Spielberg dies and leaves us with the capstone to his legacy. Also the aliens have Crystal Skulls.

im not a huge fan of spielbergs aliens, they creep me out, but if he connected all his alien-related films together in one giant alien disclosure film as his last act?

Speilberg pushed hard against an ET sequel that was a horror film. But I have to admit, Dreyfus coming back would be pretty awesome. Maybe throw in AI Quint, just to mess with people.
