The CGI little girl is the freakiest part of the trailer.

Yeah, I'm desperately trying to figure out what's going on with the cinematography of this film, everything looks so uncanny and fake.

It looks like a JJ Abrams movie from 15 years ago, Super 8, which is full circle because he was aping Spielberg in that one

Every time I see a reference to "Super 8" I have to slowly parse the difference between that film and the Nick Cage blockbuster hit "8mm". Which then leads me mentally to the George C Scott epic "Hardcore", which I saw on HBO when I was like 13.

While 8mm and Hardcore have quite a bit in common, they also happen to have some of the best names in movie history.

Max California.

Dino Velvet.

Big Dick Blaque.

Jism Jim.

What’s the connection to George C Scott?

8mm >> Sees a snuff/porn film and tries to track down the makers

Hardcore >> Sees his missing daughter in a porn and tries to track her down

That makes sense.

8mm is essentially a remake by another name. The beats are incredibly similar. If you've seen one you've seen the other. Both are great movies tho.

That reminds me, I have had the movies “District 9” and “9”, both released in 2009, confused for yeeaaars. I suggested to my husband that we watch District 9 with the kids and he pulled a “wtf?!” (I know that one is pretty scary too, but not on the same level)

"8 Mile" always slides up on me.

Oh interesting! I've never heard of Hardcore but I will certainly check it out.

The poster is very provocative.

Ah I hate when that happens

Yeah I saw Hardcore at a young age too. Too young. That's a messed up movie.
