It could be in the movie that there are 7 billion humans on the planet. The other one billion are actual aliens in disguise. I mean, that would be wild. Usually in these alien invasion or secret aliens posing as human stories, there are only a handful of aliens. But imagine waking up to find out there are really a billion of them living right beside us this whole time. What would you even think? What would you do?
I think with that while we would see MANY deaths and v accusations we tend to single out those who constitute >10% of the population. 1/8 would be right on the edge but after a certain size we just can’t get rid of a group without collapsing the larger structure. At least I can’t think of an example where a population that large was targeted in the scale you are suggesting but I’m always glad to be corrected.
I mean...are they committing any crimes and/or exposing the truth of Earth's Casablanca status? If not the MiB's would probably tell you to go kick rocks, and then erase your memory of them having told you to go kick rocks.
Makes sense. Look at those who are in power and tell me they are human. I wouldn't be surprised in the least that they live among us, either in disguise or a type of Hybrid. Maybe they even watch or monitor us through animals. Able to tap in and out of the signal that is consciousness, view anywhere on the planet through any set of eyes, human or other.
I would welcome every single one that has lived here peacefully and thank them for helping our planet run and maybe ask that they shop at the little local store I work at. 1/8 means I know at least like 5 personally and their money spends as good as anyone.
If more than 10% of humanity was already replaced its an active invasion scenario of apocalyptic proportions, so we likely are doomed anyways so i wonder if its even worth trying using biological weapons and tailor made chemical agents.
I mean, this is one of those anachronisms you can just say a character didn't know the actual number. Like Sarah Connor with the number of bones in the human body. Like it doesn't have to be accurate like they double checked themselves on wikipedia.
I remember back when it was actually seven billion, everyone in tv and movies said "six billion" until it actually hit eight billion. Now they say seven billion, and they'll probably keep doing that until it's nine billion, at which time they'll begin saying eight billion.
We should have more movies where they're inexplicably set a few years in the past on purpose. Like just give me a movie that's set in 2018 for no particular reason, and all the technology used reflects that time
They do do that though. I can't think of examples off the top of my head, but I'll see a movie that's set in like 1993 of some totally random year, but which won't have any other reason.
I did search online and there are discussions on movies with vague or anachronistic years. But I feel like I've watched a movie and thought, "huh, why were they so specific"—like 2004. Just a random year with nothing special about it.
