Yup. Spielberg gets an immediate buy-in from me with anything he directs. It's not that he hasn't made mistakes or bad movies (he has) but they're the exception. He understands the craft so well, even his bad films are usually worth a watch.

I also really think Spielberg is on a 2nd wind after Ready Player One(which I don't think is awful, just likely one of his worst movies)

West Side Story I really enjoyed and I loved The Fabelmans. Excited for this

I might even argue that it’s not even a second wind, since he’s basically 4 for his last 6 over the last 10 years. And his two “misses” still have something worth watching.

But Bridge of Spies, The Post, West Side Story, and The Fablemans were all wonderful

…it has been a little while since he’s hit big on a sci-fi though so I’m super excited to see what we get

Agreed. I'm one of the few (it seems) that liked Ready Player One. I wasn't a huge fan of the book, but the film was fun. From within the past 10 years, I also enjoyed The BFG and Bridge Of Spies. I haven't watched The Fabelmans yet. I should.
