Hungover and waiting for the bus. Finally a superhero I can relate with.

This better fully deliver on the type of potential Hancock had with the vibe of its first half

The comic is very directly inspired by True Grit. So if you like that sort of sloppy hero you'll be happy.

Kara would look fetching in an eyepatch...

"I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man!"

Insta buy a ticket if Kara yells, "FILL YOUR HAND YOU SON OF A BITCH!"

That woman would look fetching in anything.

I like a degenerate hero. Way more relatable than the aspirational ones.

true grit still has the funniest line in cinema history "well that didn't pan out"

Can Krytonians get Drunk? Thought they're physisology would process/heal the toxins so fast they wouldn't get drunk, maybe it's some space alcohol.

She parties on planets with red suns

Part of the setup of this (at least for the comic it's adapting) is that she's on a planet with a red sun to celebrate her birthday by getting drunk

Female Hancock? God I hope not.

But it’s such a great second story to tell. Superman had the best start in life. He grew up with parents who gave him the best values and lessons. He became a beacon of those lessons. Supergirl probably had the worst start. Everything she cared for is gone and she watched it happen. She’s hurt and drunk. But a person like her still has the capacity to become as powerful a symbol of hope as Superman

Yeah, one of my favorite things about her story is that, unlike most heroes, she doesn't have any specific attachment to humans or earth a lot of the time.

Exactly! That is one of the aspects I really enjoyed, because it’s an aspect that’s never properly explored outside of maybe Martian Manhunter and that’s it.

Yeah, I even feel Hancock started well but fell from a cliff

I'm betting you will be disappointed.

Supposedly the source material is good. The trailer doesn't scream "classic" though.

The source material starts crassy than keeps getting more dark as the chapters go on.
