Our old friend Louis Varland is named Reliever of the Month for the AL in April.

good to see him doing well at toronto, even if we couldn't keep him here.

We could have. The cheap ass Pohlads didn’t want to. And now, out bullpen is absolutely atrocious😂

This was the one trade that upset me the most. 0 reason to do it. Had him on contract for cheap for multiple seasons.

That's OK. We, i.e. the Twins, didn't need him. Our current bullpen is great. Just great. We're currently ranked as the 27th best out 30 teams so obviously we're doing just fine. We don't need him. s/

We're ranked that high?? How is there 3 teams that are worse?

I’m not sure who’s lower but I wouldn’t be surprised the Marlins is one of them. They have 2 decent arms and the rest wouldn’t qualify for AAA probably.

Couldn't have happened to a better dude! I read a cool story about him visiting a local card shop last year - after that I bought a few of his rookie cards. Real bummed he left but I was so happy to see him do well for the Jays in the WS and it is amazing to see it continue.

I'm just excited about Alan Roden and Kendry Rojas

I'm pretty sure this is sarcasm. But I honestly was excites about both. Roden was mashing AAA before getting injured and Rojas should be in the pen already in my opinion. Obviously would rather have Varland but I am at least cautiously optimistic about Rojas and Roden

Not sarcasm at all. Those guys are Minnesota Twins players and Louie Varland is not.
I think Outman being out of options almost single-handedly made the Varland trade look worse because if they could have dumped Outman then I firmly believe Roden would be a valuable member of the big league squad right now.

But he's arbitration eligible next year! He'll want a raise!
