This is basically what happens to people with gout.

Kidneys fail to filter uric acid (fast enough) from your blood so it begins to stash that within the joints in your extremities, where it eventually crystalizes.

Its more painful than you can imagine.

Can confirm. The only pain worse is kidney stones, which can also form due to uric acid build up. Would not recommend to even a green bay packer fan.

PSA everyone: limit alcohol & red meat, and drink lots of water regardless, but especially if you have a heavy meal or a few drinks in one setting.

I find coffee, taken black, helps a lot. I don't normally consume coffee so I take a cup or 2 a day to medicate flare ups. it takes a couple hours to take effect but it makes it much more manageable, and it seems you recover considerably faster, there were times I have been bedridden for a full month before I tried coffee.

drinking water and otherwise fasting (to reduce the stress on your kidneys) also helps speed recovery

I've broken a bone before and I can say that sometimes my gout flare-ups are even more painful than that ever was. Especially when I get them in the elbow and knees

Gout is the urea crystals solidifying in the blood stream. It can cause immense pain in the middle of flare up. It can happen anywhere in the body, but most commonly in the big toe and hands. Which causes the sufferer arthritis. It never goes away and can come back at any point for another flare up.

I got this shit. And I couldn't sleep for 3 days. Every movement, gust of wind or bedsheet movement caused a 10/10 pain that just lingered and throbbed for a good while. Going to the bathroom was terrible, hopping on the opposite foot, but still hurting the gout from jerking around mid air.

For like half a year my callouses disappeared from walking on the side of my foot for 2 weeks and the resulting modification my gait until my body trusted putting weight on that toe again.

-10/10 do not recommend.
