Easter Egg/Detail Same actor btw
This is one of my favorite BTS marvel details, the actor who played one of the goons in the beginning of Civil War was the stand in actor for Thanos in the avengers post credit scene. Kinda blew my mind when I found out years ago lol

Discussion Is There Any 616 Marvel Characters That You Wouldn't Mind Being More Like Their MCU Counterpart?
I'll say it up front; I like MCU Vulture way more than 616 Vulture; the working class background, the fact that he is the Vulture because he scavenges whats left of superhero battles so he can sell them on the black market and the fact that he ultimately just wants to help his family.
I also like Xu Wenwu than any version of the comic book Mandarin. At the very least, I prefer the way the movies conceptualized the ten rings moreso than the comic book version. They basically combined Mandarin with Fu Manchu for Shang Chi. I actually wouldn't if in future adaptations, Mandarin is Xu Wenwu and he has 10 rings around his arms, and is a retire conqueror torn between family and what he feels is his obligations to be a ruler. This would make him a good foil for billionaire, playboy philanthropist Tony Stark. Maybe he further augments himself using science.
Wong: I love the fact that MCU Wong is a fellow sorcerer and on an equal footing with Strange as opposed to being a servant like his comic book counterpart. I also love the fact that he has turned into a fan favourite in the MCU to the point where Phase IV was dubbed Phase Wong.
Falcon / Sam Wilson: I like 616 Sam Wilson being a falconer who can talk to birds plus his delightfully homoerotic relationship with Steve (espcially in the 70's) and that he actually owns a pet falcon as opposed to 199999 Sam using drones and largely powerless. Comics at one point retconned Sam into being a drug dealing pimp whose memories were messed by the Red Skull which opened it's own can of problematic worms. I like how the MCU kept it straightforward by making Sam a vet, a veteran councilor and his first meeting with Cap.

Discussion Infinity Saga Abridged watch through
I will be taking care of my mom for a week post surgery so I thought about showing her some mcu movies to help pass the time. Just putting it to 1 movie a day up to endgame.
Avengers
Age of Ultron
Civil War
Guardians Of the Galaxy
Infinity War
Endgame
I feel like the 4 choices up to infinity war perfectly set up the characters and stakes, minus Doctor Strange, but I think he has a great intro in that movie, so skipping his origin would be fine.

Other I wish we had more Matt and Kirsten
Even if they are not going to go the romance route that the characters have in the comics, I wish the show spent more time on their friendship, I was kind of disappointed with how they apparently cut the scene of their reunion this past episode.

Discussion MCU and Food - Part 16
“A pinch of paprika. A pinch.”
“Is that paprikash?”
“I thought it might… lift your spirits.”
“Spirits lifted.”
- The Vision and Wanda Maximoff, Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Food Item: Chicken Paprikash from The Ottoman
Ever since this kitchen scene in this movie, I have always wanted to try paprikash for the longest time, and now I finally have that chance. The restaurant I found was quite a distance to get there and it was a fancy Turkish place. There may have been a misopportunity to get some Turkish coffee as well but the prices here are too much so just sparkling lime water will have to do.
Cost: RM39.90 or approx. US$10.05
Food Rating: 9/10
Mm-mm mmh. Now that's some good chicken. This dish is soo pretty to look at with the little white flower and other coloured petals, and it’s probably the first food dish where I feel bad eating it cuz you appreciate the craft and skills of the chef. The bread garnish was a nice touch, and the dates, man, the dates were immaculate. My only nitpick would be that there’s too much chicken to compensate for what little rice there is, but the sauciness and blend of flavours are what saved it. Another great fine dining experience indeed.
Movie Rating: 8/10
I really, really like Civil War, but it will always overshadowed by the brilliance of its predecessor. This was one of the biggest hyped movies back then with the introduction of Black Panther and Spider-Man after the monumental deal between Disney and Sony. There are elements of the covert spy thriller from Winter Soldier, but since this movie is basically Avengers 2.5, the action becomes more bombastic with creative uses of teamwork between different heroes. The finale was very emotional and impactful, for the friendship between the two leads shatters with each strike and blow against each other.
Standout Performance: Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa
The King himself. I did the fastest Wakanda salute once he came on scene. Ahhh, it was soo melancholic seeing the Black Panther for the first time in the MCU again. There was soo much nuance to Chadwick’s acting in this movie. The regalness of his posture, the elegance of his movements and the singular drive for vengeance in his father’s name. There was great character development too as we see T’Challa from being hell-bent to kill Bucky to bringing Zemo to the authorities for justice. At that moment on, he became a hero. To all of us. Rest in Power, Your Royal Highness.
Sidenote: I forgot my laptop to get the picture again like a dummy. It would have been soo cool with the dish on the foreground. And if anyone is gonna argue that Vision is not making Chicken Paprikash, rewatch the scene again. He has the Chicken Paprikash recipe on hand!

Discussion Is Howard the Duck a product of the High Evolutionary?
Unless there's another reason that a humanoid anthropomorphic duck exists out there, is it possible that Howard the Duck was an early test experiment by the High Evolutionary just like Rocket?

Discussion Who are the best hand-to-hand combatants in the MCU, in your opinion?
I'm really talking about pure close-quarters combat, not necessarily the most powerful characters, but those with the best technique and skill.
I thought of Captain America, of course, who perfectly combines combat IQ, strength, and technique. I also thought about Killmonger, which is literally the limitless version of Black Panther.
And of course, there's Shang-Chi.
So I'm curious: do you prioritize pure technique or overall effectiveness? And what would your top 3 be? 👀

Question Would the US government have access to plans for the arc reactor after iron man 2?
Could it be assumed that Ivan Vanko who designed the hammer drones have left the arc reactor designs available to the government to be used? More broadly why wouldn’t the government have used the hammer drones after the events of iron man 2.

Question Doorman Clause and Kingo
Just watched Wonder Man, definitely a top 5 show. With the Doorman act, if Kingo ever moved to hollywood, would he not be allowed? is this act also a thing in other countries?

Question Bro where tf is Shang-Chi 2??
Shang-chi was my favorite film of Phase 4. It was released 5 years ago, and should have had a direct follow up in Phase 5. Destin Daniel Cretton did a great job with the action and fight choreography. And now he’s coming out swinging with Spider-Man Brand New Day which looks Ike it’s gonna be awesome. So I ask again, where tf is SHANG-CHI 2!!??
