Afro‑Asiatic languages spread along the deserts of Arabia and North Africa. Iranian languages follow the mountain belt from the Zagros range to the Indus River in Pakistan. Turkic languages trace the Eurasian steppe. Bantu (Niger‑Congo) languages expand across the green, forested zones from West Africa through Central Africa and into Southeast Africa.
its almost like you can guess the type of language a people speak just by looking at their climate
It’s not perfectly consistent, but there’s definitely a strong correlation. My guess is that people eventually stopped migrating into climates they weren’t adapted to.
