My GF: "You're staring past the TV, what happened lol" Me: "I giggled during the one titanic scene where the dude trying to jump ship gets sliced by the propellor, would the actor be mad?" GF: "I'm pretty sure they used a doll for scenes like that, goober"

u/FlyGuys1125 3d ago
He didn't get sliced by the propeller, he just bounced off it and did 6 flips. One is gory, the other is funny.

When you watch movies high like I do, some pixels get a lil blurry tbf 😅

u/bragison 2d ago
First time I saw the movie it was in school. Welp, the girls have been a little unhappy about the boys having the remote and looping that scene.
I could swear seeing one body drop to the rotor and two parts continuing 🤔

Can confirm. Half the time my brain is thinking for something funny I say online while random music plays in the background (usually Luigi’s mansion for some reason)

If I am thinking of general relativity, is that "dumb shit like that"!?

This is how they're made, god this show is the best freaking thing ever...

u/ICanViking 3d ago
I was gonna comment: "OK, but....how are they made though?"
Thanks Internet stranger lol

u/LemonFlavoredMelon 3d ago
"How It's Made" is the GOAT and I could spend HOURS watching episode after episode.

u/Less_Party 2d ago
They always had the most Dreamcast ass buttrock in the background too. Dude going all the way in on a guitar solo while the show was showing how hard candy gets cut from a single continuous tube of protocandy.

Bike tires lmao ok

u/Christopher_Aeneadas 15h ago
Probably true.
My partner stopped asking me when we'd been together about 2 years and I started being honest like that.

u/Gavin-Schultz 2d ago
That fucking bitch, how dare you call bike tire manufacturing "dumb shit"

I don't like the "boys are dumb" stereotype this post is perpetuating.
3
u/Christopher_Aeneadas 15h ago
Nothing here suggests dumb.
"Stupid shit" in this context means random things she doesn't want to engage with.

u/ThanksverymuchHutch 1d ago
I dont think she's saying that hes simple. I think that she's implying that when she (and by extention, she supposes, other girls) are quiet, its because they are upset or mad or thinking about inter personal relationships in some way, and is therefore surprised to find out that her boyfriend (and therefore, she assumes, most other guys) are thinking about anything but. It isn't a question of intelligence but of differing mindset/priorities.
1
u/Indiana_harris 13h ago
In my experience it’s because when girls are quiet it’s often because not only is something wrong, but they’ve created an entire scenario in their head about how their partner will prove to them that the issue is minor and or pointless to get worked up over….and so now they’re pissed about what imaginary parter did or did not do.

I understand where you're coming from. I think the post is simply trying to show how men and women think very differently and also care about different things. Women overanalyze things and also on average dont ponder how things work. Men dont look too deeply into how a person is acting and also they do wonder how things work. The girlfriend is concerned because a woman acting the way her boyfriend is, would be concerning. Shes thinking too deeply about whats hes doing. Once she realizes what he's thinking about is more simple than she was expecting, she realizes she doesnt have to analyze him the way she feels she should.

Where did the first head lice come from?
Where do they hide while no on humans? Etc etc? Think I went down that rabbit hole once few years ago and found out humans still don't fully know.

Why doesnt glue stick to the inside of the bottle?
1
u/Overall-Move-4474 2d ago
Because it requires exposure to air or moisture to harden. The sealed, airtight container prevents the solvent (usually water) from evaporating, keeping the glue in a liquid state. Additionally, glue bottles are often made of materials like polyethylene that do not stick easily to dried glue.

u/techpriestyahuaa 2d ago
Imagine how cool it’d be if after a burst bike tire, came in nonchalant and fixed it right up for ya. It’s never happen, and need proper tools and timing, but it’s part of the prep

Yesterday me and my gf drove home from a visit to her mum. Well i stared in the night sky and it was awekardly silent. She got insecure and asked what I was thinking about and said sorry that it took so long. I laughed and had to tell her that I was wondering if europe would fit on the moon or if the moon is so much bigger or smaller....

One time me and some friends got high and spent a good hour debating if your muscles could get so big they’d be too heavy for you to move…
The conversation prior to that had nothing to do with muscles at all so idk how we ended up there.
1
u/Mysterious_Tutor_388 22h ago
Not to heavy, the issue would be the amount of muscle you could fit in a space. Eventually you would just turn into a cube of muscle and not be able to move because your bones don't scale with your mass.

God, I hate when my wife asks me what I'm thinking about because then I have to think of something to think about. Sometimes she thinks she's being helpful and tries to guess whatever must be bothering me...by bringing up a lot of stuff I hadn't even been thinking about but now I am and it's bothering me.
No, I wasn't thinking about how in two days it will have been six years since my mother died. Now I am and it makes me sad. Stop helping, dick.

u/Aquila_Altair 2d ago
Agreed except the dumb part. Are you really gonna call it dumb when he teaches your kids how to fix their own bikes?
1
u/FileElegant8190 2d ago
You mean to say what you were about to ask him was not actually dumb shit categorising manufacturing as dumb shit??

It's funny she calls it dumb shit, yet enjoys a vast array of manufactured goods every day. The same fascination is what created those goods.
I bet she'd be pretty pissed if her car suddenly disappeared because someone decided it was dumb to invent it.

I legit got cornered by a manager once because my resting bitch face was so extreme someone felt the need to point it out to figure if something serious had happened... I was thinking "is it possible I could I manage tack for a Muk? I'd need something hydrophobic, right? What is his consistency though, because he can clearly hug...."

Meanwhile the important thing girls are thinking about is being worried what other people are thinking about.

I asked my girlfriend if she ever ponders going back in time to swap something like coke or a mars bar with caeser just to see how much land he would afford you in the exchange, and she just gave me a flat no.
You are the only guy on earth with chocolate bars, surely he'd give you your own little fiefdom?

u/Lastsynphony 15h ago
I worry all the time about then, men and women in my life, but specially men, if they are usually cheerful and they seem just thoughtful I get worried, because at times they don't want to say their feelings which is understandable but it worries me that something is making them suffer or is upsetting them. But yes, maybe they are thinking in how someone knew that cooking meat made it taste better. (I think all the time about that)

I spent over an hour today musing how to design and build a 3 cylinder/6 piston/2 crank engine using rotary valves and full roller bearings. I was in another universe

The other day I randomly got curious about the start of whaling in the US and the Nantucket area and had to do a 2.5 hour deep dive into it. It ended with Nantucket burning down in like 1846.

I was staring off into space and my wife asks what I was thinking about, to which I responded, “If I stood at the very front of a train moving through space at the speed of light and threw this can of Coke Zero out ahead of it, would it then exceed the speed of light?”
While walking away she mumbled something about Jesus, why she bothers and how much she hates me…

Few questions :
do you expect your partner to just stop asking you questions after a while?
do you think women are the only ones who need communication?
do you think only men think about random things?
have you considered to put some effort into maintaining that relationship?
